how can you tell an rs500 is geniune
I am going to view a rs500 2mora can anybody tell me what to look for and how do you know if it is genuine. where does it tell you the build number of the car if it hasn't got the little plate by the electric windows?? please help anybody!!!

First off, dont base anything on the plate between the window switches as it wasnt ford supplied. Look for the little quirky rs500 only bits ie hack sawed battery tray corner, tacked on and also unusable second mounting points for the rear arms, bits and bobs like that along with the obvious parts that we all know about ie T4, 8 injectors etc

front corner of the battery tray should be slightly chopped off.
Contact RS500 Registrar on here to check the reg or numbers too if possible.

Hi Mate
As Martin says , its all about the vin / chassis number ,
If you either pm me or call me with the vin number i can tell you if its a gen 500 and its build number .
with regards looking for the correct parts , its much easier if i give you a list when you call

this car has been sitting on his driveway for a long time, so i am not sure what condition it is in i just wanted to go there with some sort of knowledge so they think i know what i am talking about. i dont think it is a well known car.

ok got another one for ya north york and rs500, got a saff 4x4 cos at the mo, and last year harvey gabs put me a big wing sump on, all was well until i done a track day and found oil pissing out from everywhere on the engine. he is saying that it is impossible that the oil would be coming from the sump gasket seal. what do you think?
