Default Type Approval?

Does anybody have any idea what this is about as my manager is winding me up, he keeps coming through to the work shop saying that im gonna have to get certificates for everything i've done to my S2, even tho the tye approval on cars doesn't appear to start till mid next year he wont shut up and thinks its funny :S. i would have fort it was something to do with the maufactures side of it not the customer but if anyone could shed any light on it, especially if it will shut him up.

cheers Rich

All cars manufactured in the EU must have type approval. This involves an independent body either carrying out or witnessing vehicle tests. In the UK this function is performed by the VCA (Vehicle certification authority). This body has the power to hand out ISO certifications.

As long as the parts are approved for use on the road - IE they carry and E mark and are not marked "not for road use" you'll be ok.
