Default What Could This Be??

Can anyone guestimate whats causing these? Its on a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2, apparently 46406miles, service 1070miles ago (Cam belt inc.) and apparently not run in 2 months (Started without hesitation). Its a 1993 (L reg) and is up for £700

The water pump has alot of corrosion. I expect this under the pipe, not that far up?

Im looking for a cheap run around for me other bro (Not JB) and this is 90% perfect, except the gunk stuff... Any suggestions??

sounds a bit expensive for an L reg even with that mileage? not worth the hassle, if you think something is wrong with it, fuck it and keep looking

the gunk is prob condensation from being parked up for so long

L reg is only worth 400 quid. Less to trade.

Thanks for the suggestions, but Ive tried finding decent cheap cars in the local area (Unable to travel far due to health) and this is the best Ive found!! If I could travel miles Im sure to find a bargain, but im restricted.

I thought it maybe condensation, but I wiped the cap clean before starting the engine??

Oil change and clean the breather will sort that mate, just a bit of moisture, well unless the head gasket has gone, lol

Cheers Chip, are they hard/cheap to replace on the 1.2?? Anything worth changing while its apart? or just get another engine?

Gonna see if I can knock the block down saying its suspect headgasket...

I doubt it is the gasket mate, but they are a piece of piss to change anyway on those, only slight issue is sometimes the waterpumps seize and need a bit of persuasion to move (water pump is the tensioner for the belt)

Worth trying to knock him down though on the basis it *might* be the gasket.

condensation from short journeys not getting the oil hot enough to boil it off, or water in the oil from head gasket, crack in head or block. if there is no sign of pressurisation of the cooling system or oil in the water, then suspect it's just condensation

Check the colour of the oil mate.....

I did a headgasket on a Corsa 1.0 12v last year and believe it or not the engine still ran fine except running only slightly hotter than normal...apparently the smaller engines can be prone for headgaskets going at not to high a milage!!

This is what I found when I stripped it down...
