I sleep around 10 hours a night at the moment as i'm pregnant and am nackered all the time. But normally i sleep 8 hours a night and can't sleep any more than that. Hate lying in bed awake so i ALWAYS get up when i wake up. I'm a light sleeper too and the slightest thing can wake me up!

About 8 hours, I'm always asleep by 11 and wake up 6ish but go back to sleep until 7ish, too much sleep and I feel worse/tired throughout the day

Congratulations to you and Stu.

Same, but it does my head in, I'd much rather be able to just get up!!

I usually get around 8-10hrs depending what time I actually go to bed

for those of you that have problems - is the room dark when you wake up?

in winter it was for me and i really struggled to wake up at 7am for work. i got a 'lumie body clock' talarm hat puts a dim light on 30 minutes before your alarm goes off and gradually gets to full brightness when the alarm wakes you. i found it a massive help and would then often wake up 5 minutes before the alarm as my brain reacted to the light.

this time of year, due to thin curtains, i wake up naturally by 6 - a bit unnecessary as i no longer need to get up for work

It is not dark and not bright tbh, kind of in between!

It is a propper struggle though, I think the summer also helps cos you know it won't be cold when you get out of bed!!

I have a really bad sleep pattern. I go to bed at around 12am then I wake up at 3am, again at 5am then my alarm goes off at 6.30am when I get up. I'm not tired when I get up though and I'm at work from 7.30am to 6pm some nights then the same routine.

Maybe my body clock is adjusting for when the baby comes.

I've always suffered from broken sleep though, I very rarely go through a night without waking up.

I always used to have/need 8+ hours, but since becoming a postie over 3 years ago I get around 5-6 hours and I'm fine. I can't seem to lie in on my days off now either.

Between 5 and 6. Sometimes i feel it in the mornig but Im Ok after 15 mins or so.

Could do without the 3 year old who belongs to the couple next door shouting at his mum (and her trying desperately to stop him and make him go to sleep) at 1am or 3am or 5:30am every other night!

I put 4, as thats what I get most nights, but once or twice a week I tend to get about 6-8 hours which helps catch up, i reckon i wouldnt feel so good without that extra at weekends once or twice a week.

Ive just never really needed a lot of sleep, must be my healthy lifestyle paying off

Between boxing day and new year when I was working on my car, I got 9 hours total sleep in the 5 days though and was utterly fucked at the end of it, slept for about 10 hours straight, lol
