what size tyres have you got on them first of all?

secondly, i know of a way to increase the gap between the spring cup and the tyre, without cuting of welding or anything, bolt on in fact

lower profile tyres, 215/35 would be the way to go on the front.. oh and some gentle tapping with a hammer on the spring cup

are 215/35's ok on 8J width wheels? i have them on 18x 7.5J rims and they look quite stretched out, so i didnt dare get them when i got some 18 x 8J's?

different tyres have different looks and different "shoulders" so that they appear different, even though they are the same size

i spotted some 205/50/16's on a mondeo yesterday that stuck out an awfully long way outside the rim, and yet the tyre on the back was sung up to the face of the rim

Why not get a Focus RS with the wheels already on, rather than trying to bodge great wheels on to a old car

Just do it properly and get coilovers, the rubbing will never really go away otherwise, you corner really hard one day and yep your old friend will come back to say hello.

Even the Focus RS is an old car now

At the end of the day it's just an RST S3 :P

Is there anywhere i said the FRS was a new car in my above post

I dont think thats fair to call it a RST s3, after all the FRS goes round corners unlike most RST's

Ahhh but think of the £3500 you'll save not having to rebuild the YB engine every couple of years .

That easy offsets the extra tax that the FRS "might" have to pay (its not confirmed, it might be cars built after 2006 )

Wake up and smell the fresh air of change. Its a modern fwd hot hatch its not ment to be a cossie. If it was a cossie i would be disapointed with it, not all of us want cars that only go well in straight lines, some times we like to go round corners or stop quick or do a track day or even just go to the shops without it breaking down or being stolen

Yeah but as nice as they are they`ll just always fall short IMO, another reason being is theyre in the same price bracket as the Escort Cosworth!!, that reason alone will kill them time after time, people are always gonna want the better investment, the better looking car and the one with the better motorsport pedigree....the Escort Cossie......end of

Think theres something wrong there, should be priced around £10k - £11k but all down to condition of the car really.

Still could always buy a £3k saff and spend another £7k on putting it right and still be left with a £6K car at the end.
