I'm no expert on this, but surely in some way the quote is correct? A huuuuuge turbo running at 12psi or less, will make more power than a small turbo with a lot of pressure. Sure the car will be laggy and not particularly fast, but on the graph, it would have a big power figure (at some point in the rev range around 10k )

It doesnt say anywhere that the car will be nice to drive, only that it will be powerful.

Its a really shit quote though, becasue even though a huge turbo with low boost will flow more than a small turbo with high boost, a huge turbo with huge boost would be even better

Oh and for the record, I dont even know who the guy is, nor do I read any car magazines

Well, i can see what he was saying and why he said it. Ive not read the article but i am reading between the lines and presuming he meant that a well specced engine wont require massive boost to do the power.

Anyone with a slice of intelligence who has read this months article can see what he is saying about the standard ECU fitted to Cossies.

He isnt saying that they are shit at all. What he says is that he is amazed at the amount of people who believe they are the only ones to use on a Cossie, which has been proved time and time again to be untrue LOL

Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill!

No. Not at all. It would be a small percentageand is generally not a linear scale.

Doug/Garage19.

I certainly agree with you 100% on a normally aspirated engine. A larger bore will always fill with more air and produce more power than an engine with a smaller capacity. However on a turbo car, with air under pressure both engines will fill within a percentage or 2 of each other. I think there would have to be a large difference in capacity to be able to see any decent benefits that a couple of PSI rise in boost pressure wouldn't get around.

STOP FUCKING TAKING EVERYTHING THAT PPC SAY AS THE GOSPEL TRUTH!!

P.S Zero back pressure in an exhaust is not the most ideal for highest power

P.P.S In theory a Bumble Bee can't fly

err no, in the "old" incorrect theory that bumble bees DON'T rotate their wings as they flap they can't, but, the new theory that they in fact DO rotate as they flap (as shown by modern highspeed filming tech) meen they can fly in theory and and real life, just goes to show how not actually checking before saying can make all the difference
It's called reserch and we ALL can be guilty of doing too little of that

As for DW no idea he is way above my head so (unlike most is seems on here) i'm just not gonna attemp to slate him in the hope that somone won't find out later i'm talking bollox

WTF? I did run away I just got fed up of the induction kit and ICE brigade!!! If I want to learn how to wire an amp and neons up I will be back, don't worry. If you had even an ounce of common sense you could see I have been arguing the the quotes have been taken out of context and the fact you can not use a specific example to prove an general example wrong. I have had no point said whether I agree with the statement or not.

Just as an aside, here is a specific example of big BHP from less than 12 PSI. Is 750 bhp enough for you? I'm sure some one here's mates Cossie has more from 28 PSI.
