just got my monitor fitted with a new plug and pc data download plug by ryan (car looms uk) cheers mate



all seems to be working fine apart from when you go to page 8 for download data logging it says

DATA CORRUPT - MEMORY BATTERY FLAT

so how do i rectify this? where is the battery as i dont see 1 or is it under that board? i didnt want to pull it apart too much for fear of fcuking it up lol

it is version 6.50e................ memory 128k

also i have full throttle angle 85 degrees but 2 degress when completely off throttle? is this correct as i thought it would be 0 degrees


And lastly what pc software etc do i neeed to actually download and view the data logged recordings

off throttle should be 3 degrees, 0 degrees would be fully shut throttle.

PS you got a rare mapping monitor there, worth more than a standard monitor.

Is it not just a capacitor that holds the memory power for a short while?
Have you had it on power for long?
Have tried recording new data?

If you undo the four hexs in the corners the pcb will come out, maybe there is a battery on the other side?

mine only says 2?

yeah i know its the version with blanket fuel/ign adjustment, i used to borrow tommy fields monitor which is the same for when i run bp 102 fuel at thrashes to advance the ign for that little bit extra grunt

(ign advance was pre determined from a set up session with afr monitor and det cans etc not just advanced without checking the safe limitbefore anyone says)


i undone the 4 hexs but still cant see any conventional style battery so maybe is a capacitor as you say

i only run it on the car for a couple of minutes and didnt start a new logging session so il ty that tommorow maybe after a run incase the monitor is just sayng the last stored loggin is corrupt due to battery flat as it hasnt been used in a long time.


can anyone remember what dial does what on this version as its been ages since i last used tommy's mapping version?

ryan gave me all the download software but i need an old windows 98 pc as it wont work with xp! Just need to know how to replace the battery

Sorry mate can't help with the battery, but happy it seems to suit your needs, as said the others quite rare monitor and for the price I sold it, well you've made a nice bargin.
