Isit lazy that I want to install a camera in my front door? :cry:
I hate cold callers, and I get LOADS of them 
But is it incredibly lazy that I want to fit a camera in the door so that I don't have to bother getting up, going downstairs to find it's a cold caller - with a camera I could have it hooked to the PC and see who it is without having to bother getting up

ive offten thought about doing this 
nothing pisses me off more when im lying in bed duing the day (night shift worker) and the door goes, i get up to find someone selling me windows
, ive got fucking windows, cant they see that for themselfs ?
My postman knows now to ring twice if these a car on the front as 99% of the time ill be in bed, dont mind getting up to collect a parcel off him

) and the one thing I REALLY hate is when people do that! I knock at the door, they open an upstairs window and you have to shout up to them that they need to come down At least if I have a camera in the door I can pretend I'm not in

I installed one years ago and it is the best idea ever, carol singers-not getting up, religious people-not getting up, someone I don't know-not getting up-I bought one that hooks up to the TV and changes the channel when the PIR see's them.

I have a 100m drive way and automatic gates there is no intercom either, i have no idea if there is a cold caller at the gate and frankly I think it's quite funny that they can't get to disturb me ,and have no intention of fitting a buzzer intercom or camera spending my money to speak to someone whom I would like to punch in the face for disturbing me at home roflol I am disturbed enough

Just stick a 6 foot gate up with a 'beware of the dog' sign. Since ours has been put up, we dont get ANY now and even the junk mail leaflets etc are just wedged in the gate frame, so they all blow away when i open it to go out anyway.

I have one in my loft, just an old P3 computer with a PCI camera recording card in it and a cheap IR camera off Ebay. Covers the door/drive etc. Cost about Ł40 in bits (that included the new camera!) 
(I have an office in my loft and it's handy for seeing who is coming and going!)
Saves running down 2 flights of stairs to find the Jehovas witnesses at the door!

Would it be hard to wire one up since it would be sitting in a door ie hinges and cables to mix that good to they?
Could make use of one as the area got a bit nasty lately.
