Double internet connection?????
I want to be able to run my PS3 and my laptop at the same time, i am with virgin media and i am using their router which only lets me use one a a time, i need to unplug and switch off the router then wait about 2 mins plug in power and ethernet and thats me on the other computer, but its doing my head in changing over all the time, i dont want to go to the wireless route as its kinda pricey and i dont want to "choke" the bandwidth if that makes any sense.
Any ideas

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Think you getting Routers and Modems mixed up mate.
I have a Virginmedia connection and run PS3 and 3 Laptops off it. PS3 and one machine are cabled and the other 2 are wireless.

You need a router mate. Doesn't matter if it's wireless - they have usually got four connections that you can wire to computers.
You might want the wireless at a later date...
There are 2 types, make sure you DON'T get the ADSL type.

20K+ Super Poster.
I have just swapped to the excellent PLUS.NET, got a free router which was wireless, as I wanted my lad to be able to use his laptop at same time as me, mine is WIRED in to router his goes wireless, no problems, I just got a single wireless router, but they do ones with 3/4 etc.
Even I managed to do it, easy so no one else should have nay problem as I don't do computers well.

easy enough to just add a router on virgin media, they can be picked up for about £30, also very easy to set up, just make sure you enable the security if you go wireless, its amazing how many don't I can connect to about 3 different networks at home, as well as my own. Mine is however well protected.
