Just been out in mine after finishing work and everything about the car was superb. Makes all the work worth while.

Did you use it at the ring and drive it back then?
I sure did 978 miles in total

Route Napoleon down to Cannes - great roads and weather and a fun time comparing performance to a hard-driven German reg 330i. Car went great and hope to do it again next year

The day I bought it.
boring drive
Drove it from Raceys house in Essex, all the way round the M25, and along the M4 to Bath.
but didnt stop smiling all the way.![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
was an excellent car for me.

Wen i was driving on the M1, and a new 911 turbo came aside me.
Then we was sitting behind a focus at 80mph, soon as the focus pulled in, it was like the green light.
GO GO GO GO 330bhp 370 lb/s. all the way up to 150mph. he pulled a half a car length on me.
Saying that its hard to pick, racing my bros evo 8 was fun to.

a run from home to duns in scotland for the jim clark about 4yrs ago in my old saph. was a red hot day, and had no passengers needing the bog every time i passed a services. started with a high speed run up the a55 & m6, followed by some of the best a/b roads in the country from the borders through hawick, galashields, and onto duns.. did it in less than 3hrs including the usual fuel stop.

Gala to Earlston, fantastic jumps via Gattonside. then to Greenlaw to Duns, dream.
spoiled by too many cameras these days.

In no particular order:
1. ND track session in 2006, battling against Justin and Dave in evenly matched cars.
2. My 8.06 BTG lap with RW shotgun - intense concentration and rewarded by huge feeling of exhileration (for the time) and relief (another lap made intact with all limbs where they should be)
.
3. Giving passenger rides at Croft 2006.

That lap would have been sub 8 (7.59ish) if there hadn't been a huge accident earlier in the day that had a section of the long upward section coned off (where a Porsche had totalled the barriers) with a 50km/h speed limit in place for a few hundred metres. Although we did around 50-60mph through here, you would have normally been doing three figure speeds, so it buggered the whole of that 1 mile up hill section before the Karoussel. However, the rest of the lap was absolutely pefect for traffic, so can't complain
.
This was also in 2006 (with the 450bhp engine) - so that was a really good year

Cossies:
1. 8:06 btg in Mike's escort cossie. What a LOVELY lap it was. IT was the end of the long weekend, the car was going great, the track was SO quiet, best I have ever seen it. Mike was driving REALLY well and it all came together wonderfully. As said we had a slow section to deal with which knocked some time off our lap. All in all it was a fantastic experience and one I won't forget. Legend.
2. Marty (dumpeds) t35 nitrous'd up saph cossie run. It was utterly ludicrous, we were driving like total maniacs. The speed we went through the clyde tunnel will not be challenged ever again. When on earth do you hit the lowest part of the clyde tunnel, in 4th near the limter, back end steps out hit the limiter and just shift into fifth Its not big enough to do more than 60 mph in.. Have no idea how we made it out alive.
3. Last run in Ewens (rapidcossie) saph with 475 (I think) at the wheels. Cruising at 80 mph, bits n bobs of traffic in the slow lane on the m'way. Nailed it and a few seconds later passing them like they were standing still. I even commented, its probably too fast for the road this. Main reason being that people look behind them (even good drivers) see that u are a white team bus doing about 80, not catching them, then 5 seconds later (which isnt exactly long) u have mega accelerated and are passing them like they are stopped. Eventually that acceleration is going to catch a slow driver out and they will pull out! Unrelenting continous surge of power.
4. Mikes Saph cossie on the ring, 4 up, holding on for dear life, coming down Dottinger Hohe (main straight) lad in a 944 porsche ( I think) one man, one seat, roll cage, FULLY committed, making his way past us totally focussed and then Mike just nails the Cossie and we make LOTS of noise and blow the guys doors off his face was a picture![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
All four were awesome moments. Many more in different cossies but those are the ones that jump to mind.

I know nothing about steve's 2nd story and the police will back it up as they were there as standby brakes!
Too many funny runs.
Remember a really wet night out with RW in my cossie and sitting behind a merc uttering "she loves it". Quite a funny run over the back roads that night.
Coming home from brunters in the rain and steering with opposite lock round the wide bends at 3 figures on the motorway held for ages. Chops mate says how controlled and grippy the car is. I told him to watch the steering angle and his face changed to fear for the rest of the journey lol. It just felt right that time.
A run to the coast in mikes saff was one of the best passenger runs. Beating the poo out of a touring car engine on the back roads really does take some beating and will never ever be forgotten
