Yesterday, my car started to make a funny noise on or near full boost. the noise is very similar to the typical boost sound although not as higher pitched and and a bit louder. Its still hitting full boost (1 bar) but seems to take a little longer then normal and when letting off its popping and banging more then usual too.

Please please tell me these are typical symptoms of gasket failure as opposed to bearing failure.

has it started to smoke if not before take the hose off the compressor housing and wiggle the shaft back and forth if loads of play then i would say its fucked
