gearbox internals

hi there does anyone have an idea if the internals of an escort 1.8 td gearbox fit in the housing of a normal 1.8d gearbox and is it worth the hassle if so

what are you trying to achieve by doing this? extra strength or different ratios? it won't be any stronger if thats what you're thinking...

yes dude its on a friends car and due to the amount of boost its running its chewing gearboxes so we are trying to find a solution which wont cost the end of the world
