Options really are:
Standard (Not an option!)
Vauxhall Calbira Turbo (Good for 300bhp)
RS200 Pistons (To acheive a low enough CR you have to take a lot of meat off so the crown gets very thin, not a good idea)
Acrillite (No experience of these)
Then proper places like JE, Arrias is it?
Calibra Turbo are the best VFM PhilM does a set for around Ł150 on here or new they are about Ł400 I think.

Ł600 for a set of steel rods AND pistons? I doubt it...
Why bother with real top end stuff if your power target isn't anywhere near? I mean Ł150 from phil, you can build a decent engine thats going to be more than powerful enough for most people.
I totally agree if your going for big power and I would recommend a decent set of rods for decent power but if someone just wants say 250bhp then really no point. Standard rods and a set of pistons from phil, you got a nice engine for not loads of money.

As i said before if you want to do it without cutting corners or leaving weaks spots in your engine build. These pistons AND Rods will be able to hole your engine together like no other Vauxhall Calibra parts will.
They cost around Ł565 this includes pistons forged x4, rods steel h-section x4 rings & pins!
Regards
P.s i have the exact measurements of these parts here

If anyone can do a set of 909 steel h-section rods and forged pistons for Ł600.00, I will eat my own ringpiece! Tomato sauce at the ready!

oh jano - any technical details on the pistons?
what bore are they - what CR are they as standard? in zetec/zvh? how much material is there on the crown? etc...
now you admit they aren't 909 one.. what are they then?

No thankyou. I am not currently in need of any pistons.
However, I believe the topic starter Kris is and I have offered him my opinion. He and others reading this topic may well be interested in a set and you giving them some further information may lead to people buying some as anyone can say I have a set of proper pistons and steel rods.
In reference to your comment regarding 909 Pistons/Rods:
If they AREN'T 909 parts then they aren't the same. They may be similar but they AREN'T.
Anyway I have no wish to argue with you. I don't own an RS, I'm not building an engine. As I said above. That is a very good price for proper forged pistons and steel rods if they are suitable for use.
You cannot argue though that Ł150 for a set of calirbra turbo pistons and standard rods are not good value for money. I personally bought NEW ones but if your on a budget Ł150 rather than Ł600 is a big saving, especially if your power target does not require steel rods/even better pistons.
Kind Regards,
Jon

They are High Specification Ford Motorsport parts.
909 is the part number
AFAIK. I've never really been that into things though. I'm sure someone else can confirm/advice you.

Jano you talk some propper shit mate.
909 Motorsport parts for a fucking Ford Zetec?
Also, you mention those are CGI 909 Pistons, id personally not want my pistons made from Compacted Graphite Iron...but thats just me
However, to all those of you who doubt you can get pukka rods and pistons for ~Ł600 for both, you can im affraid....not going to say where here, do soem research...LOTS of it, as those rods cant be used without those type of pistons etc etc
An engine I am building (2.0 16v Zetc turbo) we recently purchaced a set of Forged Steel H Section Rods, Pins, ARP Rod Bolts, Forged Ally Pistons (8.2:1CR) and a ring set for all under Ł500 brand new
Infact I may share the info so you lot dont line Janos pockets
