Had Andy chosen to build his car to the same formula as the car mentioned in this post, then it would have been accepted. However, Andy wasn't really interested in these kind of compromises, as HIS car isn't built for Time Attack, but to be the BEST that it could be with NO compromises in design to suit any set formula.
I can't see how you can't see that ?

I am saying he has interpreted the rules to perfection and gained advice and confirmation from the organisers that he has correctly interpreted the rules with each modification, ensuring that it complies to the absolute letter of the rules. YOUR interpretation of the rules is being coloured by your favouritism towards Andy and so you see it differently to this.

And best of all, if Andy HAD built his car exactly like this one to the letter of the rules for TA, I bet the same people complaining about the skyline would be the ones defending the focus he built instead
My opinion is my opinion cause its the truth not because I love or hate Andy.

Agree with the comments on rules
BUT
Is there ANY "series" of racing that Andy can compete in with the car as it is ?
Or is it solely only any good at proving it is the best car at Trackdays (noise limits allowing)
Surely to build a car that is all out "the best" that can only be proven against other cars adhering to the same criteria ?

From my last post I haven't read this, But I actually get at what chip's saying, and the rules...
I never read the rules Steve put up, I just had it in my head from last time that the shell couldn't be touched other than strength ( seam stitching etc)
Makes sense now
'Liner shelll looks awesome btw

Hi guys,
The DCY Skyline has pushed the boundaries of what can be done as they specifically wanted to enter TA.
Just out of interest I do have a TA Prototype class running this year for any entrants interested in competing who's cars perhaps dont conform or fall just outside the regulations - havent really pushed this yet as have only had one team check in to ask how and if they can run, so if you fancy it Andrew a guaranteed space is available in all or one of the remaining rounds in this class for you, just email glen@timeattack.co.uk!!!
Oh and before anyone insinuates that this class has only just appeared it was made public on a forum to an interested party on January 28th this year, this also includes those cars like I said that fall outside current TA tech regs:

Received the official word from Glen earlier this evening...The verdict is that the Murtaya can run with the pro cars but in a brand new class designed for prototype vehicle manufacturers..

Have been around to see another cossie pro tuner today and they have pre agreed to have an entry this year at one of the rounds which is good news, I reckon they could be a serious contender to the jap cars that appear to be going to walk over the series.

Cant say yet Mike as they still have to confirm, but they seemed very positive towards it especially when I mentioned all the TA Pro guys now have to run 888's as a Series tyre - levels the playing field immensely and cuts out any doubts that can arise over special tyres etc.,......
