Default Anybody here lowered an E36 BMW?

Just a quick one really, any special tools needed apart from clamps? Is it fairly straight forward?

Cheers, Ed.

No different to most.
Rears are one bolt each side for bottom of shock.
Fronts just remove strut, simple as that.
Hope you're using Eibach?
May want to fit a couple new spring seats for rear, a 5mm for NS and 10mm for OS to balance up where they sit lower OSR.

Is that true for all E36's? I thought my 318iS was just a bit lopsided.

Every single one mate!
Just heard of old mans workmate spent £180 on new rear springs, and got 2 garages arguing over the problem, as it's still the same.
They're set up for Germany, so when driver gets in Nearside it levels it up.
So ultimate driving machines for them....
I cut 2 rings out of some old 3mm rubber belt, and put them on OS spring pad to level it up.

E46 M3 convertible ones are another favourite - get the Z3 reinforcement plates as well to help prevent the metal round the mounts tearing/cracking with age

That sounds more like it!
Knew Z3 and convertible had something to do with it lol.

Seen one or two with cracked turrets, so don't know if it's better to have the 'weaker' top mounts, or if that has any bearing on any of it.
My gsf poverty spec are hanging in with bilstein and eibach so far.

There no problem to do. take the lower shocker bolt out and take the spring. easy. Fronts same as many others remove shock etc no special tooling required.
