fraid not.. at least not easily.
there's a guy (also on turbosport) building one with carbon panels based on an original kit that was bought when they were still available so he may be able to sort you out if you want one. (and who doesn't!?!?!?) think he's in NZ though.
if i'd've known i could possibly get my hands on that it i wouldn't have gone for the group 2 zakspeed kit that i have.
then again.. mine only just fits the garage so would be looking at something considerably larger for the gp5 spec one.

Excellent thread though, can't get over how wide those Zakspeeds were !

Because most of the 17 built up rally spec RS1700T's cars were taken to South Africa to compete in Non-Homologated rallies when the project was cancelled by Stuart Turner. They were VERY sucessful and it was a glimpse of what might have been.

If the car has steel floors and most of its bodywork its a group 4 racer thats had the arches and turbo engine to move it up to Gp5.
The genuine Gp5 cars had an alluminum spaceframe and floors, the only orininal parts used where the roof and pillars, everything else was made. The fuel tanks where bladder bags that sat in the prop tunnel, they also used to have the oil tank in the passenger seat area ..all highly illegal now including the spaceframe.. rumours have it that Zakspeed are going to build one up again after the sucess they had with the Ludwigs Capri, the Wurth sponsored Championship winning car .. incidently the first Gp 5 Escort is the famous Alan Mann XOO in red and gold .. that had an electric fan blowing into the air box to call it a super charger and thus move it up to Gp 5 back in 68/69 ..
Adrian gave up racing because he wasnt enjoying it anymore, and solely does trackdays now ..hes a mechanicaly sympathetic driver as he still uses an english axle in it , albeit with Atlas side gears ... weight is probably around 800kg (est guess) shame hes not racing anymore .. be good to see the old gals winning outright again ..
Next year this one is coming out to play in the DMN championship ..
About as far as we can go without spaceframing and making the car illegal for most championships ... its basicly conforms to the old Gp4 regs but the engine would put it into Gp5 being a turbo unit.
That said the Hysterical Rallying elligibilty scrutineer would have a heart attack as theres not a lot of Gp4 rally parts used

i read somewhere about zakspeed rebuilding one - think it may have been an article in a german magazine or something. it may have been a capri.
if anyone goes to the 'ring, the zakspeed workshop is right there on the corner where the road through nuerburg joins the main road by the GP circuit and hotel. pop in and have a look if you can
check this one out on the karrusel
some pictures of a restored one here

Got to say though ... Adrians car is up there with the Gp2/4/5 racers from the ETTC and the Supersaloons/Thunderloons of the 70/80's when racing was racing ... when a guy who built his car in the shed went up against works teams. And Zakspeed spanked BMW's arse with the Capris and Escorts ... the sight, the sound the smell of the Thundersaloons and the ETTC cars of the late 70's early 80's just cant be matched today with the BTTC etc ..
In the " loons " you had VW Beatles with F5000 chassis under them, 3 door Sierras, 6 linked and running Porsche V8's, Escorts with Hart420R's, Mantas with 7L 8's etc .. and in the ETCC you had " batmobiles" BMW's and Porsche's and Ford banging wing mirrors.
" what do you need to go racing in this championship ? "
" a big set of ...... balls"
I long for the day that Thundersaloons come back, Rob Crompton is trying to get it re-started and has tracked a few cars down, he owns the Vauxhall Belmont thundersaloon with the 7L chevy V8 and huge arches that raced back in the day, it still comes out, done some rounds with the DMN alongside Martin in his Rs500 and Tony Ryans Loon (allthough its hard to tell whos car is who's with those two they swap a lot ) .. allthough he normally covers all the cars in oil as it leaks ... a lot .
And Bernard still sprints his 2.6 Millington Diamond engine ex loon
