Few tips on rear caliper removal please
Morning. I screwed my caliper up changing my pads at the weekend and now the piston sticks and binds and it's basically fooked.... The other side i took my time with and it's fine!
Got hold of a reconned unit yesteday luckily and should be here tomorrow
Now..
Last time i tried to change a rear caliper i made a right hash of it and ruined the handbrake plastic clip and the attachment hook (ended up needing a new cable)
1. How do you get the plastic retaining cable white clip out of the caliper without ruining it so it will go again?
2. Lastly how do you get the rear hook off the spring without damaging the cable?
answers on a postcard please!

I remember last time i tried to get the plastic clip out of the caliper i had so much trouble, lost my rag and fucked it proper.. D'oh.. Is there a professional way it unattachs it-self from the caliper hole without breaking it? That's what i'm most worried about

spray some wd40 onto the plastic
the prblem is that the hole it goes into is metal and the plastic sleve has little indentations in it so the metal tends to rust up and fill the holes
twist the plastic sheathing as you pull it out, just don't forget that little circlip that holds it into place
if someone has a picture i'll show you what i mean

All i'm worried about it damaging the hook and clips.. I'm capable of changing the caliper and bleeding it up and stuff.... I just want to know the PROPER way to take the cable off the caliper without damaging it! As i don't want to fork out fork a handbrake cable!
