Arsene Wenger

Wenger is one of the PL great managers currently there no question. As for the talk of Arsenal being the best to watch well that debatable which stemmed mainly from early to mid season. I like the whole package, good football and goals. Look at our last 2 games, we played 2 top sides Liverpool and Villa and won AGG of 7-0. They didn't even score.
Sure Arsenal pass the ball around, switching an all that but it takes so long and that's all they do, there is no mix. I don't even find their individuals exciting. Theo actually stands out when he's on like against the dippers as he actually runs at people.
I'd love the dippers in the CL final as well as winning the PL, i feel we would beat them as Rafa would shit it but i can't see it just like last year it was talked about. It was a full back 3/4 of being close. Liverpool will beat Arsenal i think.
Bottom line Wenger has done great for Arsenal and they love him but Ferguson's medal list is off the scale. Leagues, cups and Euro silverware at 2 clubs. Our goal difference is miles above anyone else.
*PS. Thanks to Liverpool today. 1 down, (hopefully).

They don't have anyone that really stands out like Henry did, but it's just as a team, the way they sweep it around at their best that makes them so exciting. No, none of their Individuals are as exciting as a Ronaldo, but Walcott is developing into what we've been expecting this past few weeks. He could be so important for them next season

HA HA, Bollocks. A certain pasting you received at Old Trafford dumping you out the cup blew your minds and ended just like Newcastle years back when they had a lead.
Blame it on an injury easy way out. When Smith got that shocking injury it spurred the players on to win, granted we only had one thing to play for as we we're in the shit before that with many injuries to Keane, Giggs etc but they won it and wore T shirts for him saying for you.

Yes, that's my point mate there too one dimensional and have no alternate options. Sure they cross the ball a bit for Adebayor now but it takes far too long. Look at United in the Roma goal Scholes to Ronaldo running yards into the box, they say that was about 21 passes then a goal but doing it all the time none stop is sometimes pointless just as is hoofing it up to crouch or whatever all the time. The goal difference tells the story if you ask me. All those 4-0 games.
I'm biased though, big time.

Due to the squad they have now compared to the squad they had a couple of years ago, Arsenal decided they had to change their way a bit, and try more crosses, and that contributed to a lot of their success this season, and Adebayor is great in the air. Yet again, in recent weeks, they've lost that, and I think it's contributed to their downfall.
The fact that they're still a top team is testement to the old "Arsenal way" of their passing game and Wenger himself, but I think if they were to win the title this season, they had to dig really deep and play to the strengths of some of their individuals a bit more right to the end. I think they've done brilliantly still this season with the young squad they have. A lot of people were tipping them to slip well out of the top 4 before this season kicked off...
Anyway, it's a 2 horse race now. Chelsea must win all of their matches and even then, United have to slip up. There's still a glimmer for Chelsea if they draw with United, but I don't think that'll be enough. Will be a good battle to the end though

I was making a very reasonable comparison, the thread was about wenger not winning nothing for a couple of seasons, and what do the fans think about it, well were in the same boat so it applys to us aswell, whats good for the goose and all that. and if you care to read my reply, i said i AGREED with rafa's team selection today, he got it spot on, all we can win is the cl so he kept the players fit for tuesday, which makes a lot of sense. Still, as far as the league goes, the table doesnt lie, maybe you should have a look at it sometime

Arsenal are in good shape especially for next season, I think they can still go through to the semi's of the champions league as they will score at Anfield and that cancels the away goal. Arsenals problem is they lack attacking options upfront and require a good central defender for cover. The other main problem is the size of the squad, there is not the strength in depth to replace the starting 11 with another player of the same quality.
I think Arsenal should have went for Anelka in January as he is a proven goal scorer, perhaps its a question of not going back or taking players back to your club once they have left. Although to be fair to Wenger he hasnt made any panic buys like the 17m Darren Bent !!
I didnt see the match or the highlights of the last game with Liverpool so couldnt comment on the game but I would think that both teams played with a bit of reserve with the mid week game in mind.

i think we massively over achieved early in the season, then reverted back to overpassing football.with the stadium to pay for we have not been able to spend like the others in the transfer market.i'm not a fan of the 'over'passing game with no end result.was predicting our current position a long time back. wenger needs some steel in the team and a more direct approach when needed. see what he has to spend next year and who he will buy.i don't want anymore 'promising in a few years' players like wallcot who has done very little, and sick of hearing we will have a good team next year. not hopefull for next week either . c'mon and wake up you gooners.who are all these cockneys you dumb northerners speak of ?

I don't think he is a genius in the CL i just think he's a good manager who is able to focus on it because of being out of the league. United and Chelski got to the Semi's whilst being in the cup final and winning/pushing for the title so i think if they had nothing to play for and could rest up they would have won it recently.
My point is backed up by AC Milan who are also often miles out of the league. It's no wonder only 1 team has ever done the treble and Liverpool/Milan etc can always rest. For me that's the biggest factor.
