Nige, its worth driving on this one, I really would take it to Stu if it was me.
Trailer it up if you wont fancy driving it that far, and if you dont fancy trailering it then just pay someone else to trailer it, on a car like yours, sod cutting corners with who you choose to map it just so its someone local IMHO

Ive got an RP labs converted L8 for sale, you can take it to ANY competent mapper if you use that as all it requires is software on a normal laptop, it does coilpack and closed loop too.

Just out of curiousity, why wouldn't it go back to the same people that mapped it to achieve "603bhp @ 1.8 bar"?

why does karl want to change a perfectly good ecu? what benefit is in it for you, the customer? surely there's no reason that the P8 can't handle the large injectors properly? or is it that they will place additional load on what is supposedly the less reliable of the 2 ecu's?

This rings a bell. I asked the same question when he charged a customer for swapping out a perfectly usable DTA p8 pro and replacing with L8 and got shot down in flames!

Live map P8, including retaining the P8s standard closed loop is Ł500 inc vat and if you want all cold running software and driveability sites doing it takes a full week.

Most people dont... Its shocking how fast some people pretend they can map a car. I will elaborate on why it takes so long if anyones interested.

Its just an encryption board and an old fashioned one at that. We wouldnt use it so you could sell it on. Ironically, you could get al;most as much for that and your chip as i would charge you to map it properly.

Only sometimes? You've been working on BMW's again havent you Gary?

The amount of "performance cars "ive refused to drive this year alone is worrying...

So Nige, where you taking it to be mapped then?

Karl - Wants you to change to an L8. Of course he does lol

Stu - You dont want to go there for some strange reason. Distance really shouldnt be an issue mate.

Ahmed?
