Just a thankyou from my friend gavin who had his 3dr live mapped on a new chip it was the one with crappy collins chip ?

He could not praise you guys enough and said you was real genuine peiople and believe me he is a straight guy !!

You did a great job he is more than made up !!Just been in the car what can i say 270bhp or there abouts and its so solid 60k on the clock Gearbox tight car just pulled and pulled through every gear although he did take it easy 95% of the time as of your suggestions about getting the car tip top

He said you explained everything to him with quality reasoning behind it and had plenty of time for him his words was and i quote was "why can.t everyone in society be that helpful and considerate "!!

Thx for all your work as i recommended him to got to you and told him your the men !!!

HE JUST OFFERED ME THE CAR AT A ROCK BOTTOM PRICE AND IM MORE THAN TEMPTED!!

He explained all the findings that you did as he is a genuine guy also but the guy isn.t sleeping too well at night and its making him a nervous wreck!!

Thx again for doing a great job !!!!

You would have to be a complete fool to think it is a fair comparison between a LIVE map and a off the shelf chip.
Sorry but if being live mapped it should be 100% right, and will be better than a off the shelf chip, saying that I had a GGR chip(stage1) in my cossie before an fuelling was spot on, off the shelf.
Try comparing a LIVE MAP of a cossie ecu and a aftermarket one, then you will see the advantages of aftermarket, and more fairly.

Thanks for the kind words, its great to know he is happy with his car now.

For the record, that is our off the shelf stage 1. The car wasnt live mapped.

I would happily put my live mapped L8 against any aftermarket ECU using big injectors. Head to head, maybe with a magazine and some fuel monitoring equipment used too. The mapper of their choice for the aftermarket stuff.

Sorry thought he said it was live mapped with a new chip anyhow more delighted than ever !!!

Did you see the car stu think it was one of the better ones overall just thinking of buying and getting tip top uncracked dash seats feeling and looking brand new , Gearbox tighter than a nuns crutch?

Think the car is superb but you see a lot more than me so would appreciate your opinion ?

Just add in the EXPENSIVE cost of closed loop and coilpack, launch etc that aftermarket has as std, with aftermarket starting at £350 no competition of price is there ?
As you have the facilities/contacts/money STU why don't you arrange it, would be a good bit of advertising, surely no reason not to ?

Ah, price... well, a wise man would never try to compete on price alone.

I thought you were talking about quality. And i have NEVER driven an aftermarket system that responds as well under all condition as a factory weber unit thats well mapped.

An Escos with 1000cc injectors, T4 turbo, Air Injectors etc, live mapped with closed loop and wasted spark on a P8 will only cost £500 job done. Hardly expensive IMO.

A 92 sapphire 4x4 on L8 admittedly is more like £650 finished but still, with wasted spark and closed loop fully mapped with a weeks labour i dont see that as prohibitively expensive compared to aftermarket.

Dont forget the fitting and mapping charge. These stystems need a new loom to be fitted. And good mappers.

As for me arranging it, i am far too busy to get involved in such things, we just dont spend any time or money in this market anymore but if a mag wants to do it, im game to just turn up with one done and they can perform driveability tests. I always do things such as:

Cold start.
Cold drive.
School ruyn drive when cold.
High gear cruise. (All sub 550bhp YB powered cars should be able to engage 5th gear and cruise comfortable and economically below 1500rpm if mapped well).
Throttle response and transient fuel correction mapping. (Hesitations and sudden over or underfuelling to Joe Bloggs)
AFR at all operating ranges.
