Why would anyone make a joke about people dying and someones house being smashed to bits? I'm not having a go, i just don't get this type of humour??

I guess as i have lost someone i loved more than life itself, it kind of doesn't make these jokes funny to me.............

I'm not defending it and sick as it 'may' seem

The physiological reason we laugh is that it can be an invloluntary reaction to a situation we are relieved not to have been in ourselves.

Basically its preprogrammed into us to laugh at bad things...sometimes it is more inappropriate than others.

Yeah i understand sometimes people "laugh" at really inappropriate things. Just don't think these peoples families will be laughing too much today. Just think it's really disrespectfull......

I like a good laugh with the best of them but people have died FFS.

Anyway gonna leave it there.........will probably get enough shit for what i have said already...

You have a good point there Dojj!

I just think of the families left behind who don't at all find any part of it "funny".....

that may be true, but you can't ban it, and the majority of people will have a quiet chuckle rather than bellow out in uncontrolable measures of laughter in the office

just look at it this way, at least they aren't cruel like the mccanns

nicole, I do understand your reasons, I actually had met david a few years ago, yes it's very very sad, but as said, people have a quiet chuckle and move on, the world is full of death it's not nice but people deal with it in different ways.

I know what your saying, that people will have a chuckle about it and there really is nothing i can do to stop them. I just don't get why they find it funny and probably never will........

If i see a car crash or plane crash on the news and it's reported that people have died i don't laugh about it, it makes me feel sad and my heart goes out to their families. I wouldn't then go on the internet and post jokes about the tragic incident........

Maybe it's a woman thing, being more emotional and all that

i'm not conding it, i'm just accepting that jokes will be made and we should decide for ourselves how close they are to the mark

if you feel they are a bit much then i'm not about to say "don't like it don't read it" as its not the same as tim westwood or marmite

Thanks Lorraine, was starting to think i was going mad

Dojj, yeah i am Stu's wife but i would not blame the hormones. But perhaps i more in touch with my compassionate side and think about the bigger picture more than others do. I think some people just see a "joke" and find it funny and don't think about the event that took place for the joke to be made. Which is where i am coming from. The joke is here nor there it's people's attitude's towards what has happend that bothers me.........

But i guess i could have just not read it, and normally i wouldn't reply on such a thread, now maybe it's the hormones that have given me the bottle to tell you all what i think. But it's not the hormones that are making me think this way as i always have If that makes sense

Taken in the context they are meant in they are funny!

From a tradgic point of view it's still a very sad accident indeed, i'm quite moved that another top Motor Racing star has been killed!

Considering the situation it's always nice to have a little humour to lift the mood imo

News just in! "Foot and mouth found on scottish farm".
Fuck knows if they`ll ever find the rest of Colin McRae.

I just loaded "Colin McRae's Helicopter Simulator" onto my PC, but it keeps crashing!

Colin McRae`s wife has taken all her money out of Northern Rock. She`s now with Scottish Widows

The McRae family are all heart broken but friends are rallying around.

Colin McRae's Son and Madeline McCann are in heaven and they're talking about how they died.
Colin McRae's son says "I went down on my daddy's chopper, then it all went black."
Madeline replies "Not you too?!"

What have Benazir Bhutto and Colin Mcrae got in common?

They will never have another rally.

What's worse than having the McCanns take your kids on holiday?

Colin McRae taking them in his chopper.

Colin and Johnny McRae, together with a couple of sleeping bags and a tent are about to leave their house.

Colin shouts up to his wife whose still in bed

"Don't wait up for us, we're gonna crash in the woods tonight!"

Why did Colin McRae's marriage break down?

Because he couldn't keep his chopper up.

some people will take things to the extermes, some people will not comment at all

as long as you are not hypoctrtical about it then your levels of "entertainment" seem to bea little more conversvative than others which is fine, no one is expecting you to laugh about it as it's not a laughing matter, nor is it a trivial thing

but at the same time, i can find the homour in the jokes that have been posted

it's all objective and open to each individuals own perceptions so no 2 people are ever going to find the same things wrong/right

there was a thread asking to "show us your mrs" and i looked and commented on it, but i wouldn't take sacuy snaps of my mrs to post on the internet because i'm not like that, in the same way i could find certain things funny but my mrs wouldn't, i don't mind peol taking the piss out of me putting a hole in my hand and now struggling to open a bottle of lucozade, but i'd take offence if peole implied that there were other things i may not be able to do or that i'd need help with so there is not a clear cut line which is "crossed" as the boundaries are different for every person for every eventuality

i'd class myself as "sensible" with a bit of "confused" and a dash of "genious" as well, but it's very difficult to say what could make me laugh or what i would find unfunny

you are you, i am me and everyone else is everyone else, it would be a bit boring if everyone was the same don't you think

Don't see it causing any problems on my part Dojj, what you have posted makes perfect sense to me and you are right in what you have written. My levels of entertainment don't stretch to laughing about others peoples tragic misfortunes, if that makes me conservative then so be it!!

As said previously i would not normally have posted my thoughts on such a thread as they are wasted here. I still stand by what i have said and i think that it's wrong to find humour in something so tragic where people have lost their lives. BUT i accept that people are going to go ahead and do it anyway regardless of my thoughts or feelings on the subject!

To be fair, if everyone got a life ban for taking the piss out of a retard, anyone who replies to your posts would be banned for life

But the way I see it, either it's ok to poke fun at EVERYTHING, or it's not ok to poke fun at anything.....
