I also cant beleive that Torque Development International (thats there full name) Can not care about there reputation atall.

They have no argument and that is why they have not put one up. Thought about nothing but this predicament all day and really just dont know what to do. I agree with the comment about dennis looking like a prick.

How can he go to any of the shows. Everyone knows that he does not know what he is doing now martin has stripped what he built. He cannot make any excuse, he was in charge of the build And when i left with the engine i said to him so this should be more than good enough for 550hp. he said yes mate its an extremely strong engine.

What a load of bollocks.

Everybody that goes to the show scene obviosly knows this. If i was dennis i would have wanted to put the engine right in my own time at least, to stop my personal reputation being slaughtered.

But obviosly not....

terrible story

can you not just put a t34 on it and run it at 350~400 bhp and stick with the standard transmission? i don't see much additional outlay there to have a nice road car up and running unless i've missed something?

there would be no additional outlay mate. 400bhp is fine on the current engine and i can do that by just paying martins current bill which is fine.

400bhp isnt setting anything alight though is it, to be honest it does not excite me atall.

Why should you settle for 400bhp when you have paid out for much, much more.

Why do you feel the need to have such a high BHP figure, if short of money, why not build it to say 350 or 400bhp rather than giving up?

Because he has paid for allot more power, I wouldn't let it go what TDI have done, I would seek revenge.

i wouldn't want them to get away with it either, but surely a nice reliable and driveable 350bhp is better than nothing?

400bhp will still make a shockingly fast car mate.... will eat most supercars alive at that level.

I wouldn't be blaming TDI as much as Dennis... he will STILL be telling the owner/bosses that the car WILL make the power and that the customer is wrong and being a twat...

The buck stops at Dennis for me...

His bosses won't have read this I bet... and somehow I don't think he will be showing them!

They have a rolling road day soon, someone local should go allong and let his boss know what is what. Hopefully, with any luck he will get the sack.

benni has got it in one. What would dennis be able to reply.

he cant argue with martin.
He cant say money ws in issue.
And he cant justify his choices for this build.

The most he could do is call me a lyer and as he has not said that even once i think you can all asume that i am telling the truth.

As its a public forum i cant say to much but they was going to get a visit last night but im a young man with a young family that has tried to put the past (when i would have gone and lamped dennis strieght away) behind me.

Agreed, a properly sorted 400bhp cossie is ample power to enjoy for fast track and road use. Have a think about it, it's your car and your money but you may be suprised by what you could get out of it at 400bhp.

I realise it would be an expensive 400bhp conversion and may always stick in your throat that you could have had more BUT it's happend and as you have said there is very little you can do about it apart from learn from it and take a huge step forward

I know i'm a girl, but i have been in and owned some pretty fast cars and 400bhp is pretty serious........

Speak to rwd cossie will.
you cannot walk away from getting shafted over for a large sum of cash for an engine that is unsuitable for the power levels you expect and doesnt have the longevity (sp) for what you wanted.

A good second engineers report on the engine and a small claims court should see you get most if not all of your cash back. maybe even a bit of compensation for the stress and heartache that this issue has caused you.

I have asked martin if he will do a engineers report for me but have not heard anything back yet. My wife is also going to contact trading standards on monday.

But if a deal that someone is currently offering takes off then i wont bother anyway...

Imo don't give up and break it, get it home lock it away and seek legal advice and the as said engineers report see what u can get back first!!

I know its hard but don't be put off by a rogue tuner who charged you lots in parts

do not rest, reclaim your cash, then break the car, then go buy the escos and take it to reyland

9k to me is a SERIOUS amount of cash. to be honest i think that leaving this will just be an incentive for TDI to work properly for a short period of time, then they'll fuck someone else over. persue the small claims and legal advice.

the money is yours, they just haven't given it back yet.

Any court case will fail, I have some knowledge of going to court over a workmanship dispute many years ago, it was cut & dried but proving it in court is a different matter. The first mistake was to allow another Tuner to dismantle the engine, until the court asks for it to be done independantly , with another Tuner involved it will be thrown out. Been there done that.

Its wrong & its tuff cos you believe the law protects you from such things but in the real world its you that have to prove their wrong doing.

Remember TDI have to prove nowt thats down to you, the court wont know or care who Martin is, a transcript of this thread would destroy any case.

This is not what I was saying.

I meant in the sense, he could start again, and it would be a compromise on cost for himself, rather than ditching the car

i should also point out that if you were to go down the "i'm going to take the money out of your hide" route, i would make sure i had very suitable cast iron alibi's of my whereabouts at the time said hide was being repaid
