Default The Dream is Over

Sorry guys but the dream is over.

My car as you currently all should know is at martins and the standard of service and helpfullness has been exceptional as i fully expected.

But unfortunately the money that has been quoted has pushed me just too far over the edge of reasoning.

If i only would have took my car to martin in the first place then all would be well and i would have my 600hp.

Ive never been one to give up but the car already stands me in 13k and with gearbox front and rear diffs etc and all what martin needs to do is going to push it over 25k.

And as much as i have tried to talk myself into it i just cant. (beleive me ive tried) Might feel better if it was an escort lol.

Anyone that goes anywhere near TDI seriosly needs there heads looking at they have caused me 3 months of constant headache and now the headache of having to break the car for parts. Martin is going to build the engine back up and mark shead said it will be absoloubtly fine for upto 500bhp.

I have the reciepts for 9k so anyone that wants to make me an offer for the engine and any parts in pms etc is more than welcome. The car is currently at martins so if anyone wants to take on the project its also another possibility.

The car will be collected and broke when i get it home. (martin knows all about whats happening).

Thanks guys

Im extremely pissed off at the mo and very dissapointed as im sure most of you understand.

seems only way to get some money back. engine has gotta be first to go though. Or might put t34 on it sell the turbo and sell the car for 6k maybe at the most....

its bollocks really i just dont know what way to go with it.

I dont really want the hassle of breaking it up but the project is over. only way to get any money back is to break it. What do you guys value bits at?

such a shame, but im suprised you didnt realise this whilst building the engine 1st time round, ironically in a 4x4, the 600bhp engine is the cheap part.

its the ancilleries mate which is a killer.

and the fact that you pay out Ł1000 on headwork to be told its nowhere near enough for 600hp and that its gonna cost you another load of money to do it again.

id rather sell this and go and buy a standard escort cosworth. that way youre not losing anything...

infact hopefully youre moneys going up.

I know there is nothing wrong with them, Martin hence why I still use them.

The point I was making was that for a 9k build it should be uprated rods and crank, or am I expecting too much?

its standard rods and unground crank which multiple tuners have told me is fine for 600hp. Also the pistons allthough not used by a lot of tuners are still used by quite a few cosworth engines (due to there price) its all been rebuilt charlie yes. and everything through out the head is new. Just unfortunate that the bastards did very light porting.

definate bail out just trying to decide whether to go with my t34 and sell the car with a rebuilt engine and 350bhp.

Real shame its turned out this way, i take it when Mark said he could make it safe at 500 bhp that would be on Autronics ? So your in a catch 22 either spend money on mangment or spend money to get the engine modded to do what you have already paid for. Have you had any comeback from TDI ?

I think Mark said he could map it to x power on the assumption the engine was specced as he had asked, as it turns out it was no where near the spec he had paid for

It has a std head so how will that ever make a nice 500hp engine?

no come back from tdi and its all gone quiet with dennis. Have not even seen him on here he obvioslt knew what martin was going to find.

as martin said today after a long conversation the car can be up and running without hydralic clutch and with out any mapping or fuel pumps or distributorless ignition all back in the car for still at least Ł1500 more than expected. Not at fault of martin of course. This is at fault of tdi because of non existent head work...

and you cant have 600hp without upgraded fuel system and really hydraulic clutch needs doing then you have mapping and injectors and then when its all done 25k later the first time you put youre foot down you blow the gearbox up pmsl.....

This 600hp is definately a game for the big money men me thinks.

lets not get this wrong martin can fix it. Its me that does not want to pay the amount its going to cost to fix it thats all.

Tdi are unbelievable mate they really are. and i bet you dennis would still come on here and say it will make 500hp.

Fucked if I'd walk away after that, cant Martin do you some kind of engineers report and seek legal advise??

I would not be settling for that!

no engineer report will do anything because they still maintain if i stick with them it will make 500hp. they dont say that it wont blow up in 5000 miles though.

According to the bill its 3k in parts. Thats another thing that makes me laugh lol.

I will deffo be bringing any future cosworth to martin he is far cheaper than most otherrs but 3 k to rebuild an engine that had the damage mine did and to renew everything is very cheap indeed.

Give tdi the engine back and make them PROVE it can make the power of 500bhp or get Martins evidence in written form then take them on in court.

Might cost you a bit more in fee's but i reckon with Martin as your witness you should get what your after.
