Default An Escort Cosworth Is Just MK5 Escort isn't it?

As above, it's only a MK5 with a few parts changed, just like a MK5 RS2000 really?

According to some tool arguing the toss on another forum

Please rip into that statement

In history of where the bits were first used then yes, but the fundamental truth is that IS a mk5 escort, 100% with 100% mk5 escort parts.

It just so happens there were two variations for most of the parts that constitute being mk5 bits.

To answer the question though, it would be NO easier to turn a mk5 escort FWD into a cossie shell than it would to cossie a focus, they share no mecanical similarities at all.

I always thought of the creation of the Escort Cos as Ford raiding the parts bin & building a unique car from the bits. As chip said you can't convert other cars into an Escort cos from any base car. MK5 or Sierra.
