it seemed heavier than that.

at 4kg, it still weighs more than one of my seats

Cheers for that Martin, guess you told me.

cheers everyone, those cold stories were enough to put me off, lol

Ive removed the heater matrix and blower on every racecar ive built but theres a few reasons for that , 1st less pipework and potential leaks , 2nd weight and excess plumbing , 3rd and one of the most important reasons is that it frees up the bulkhead scuttle for impotant tanks ,overflow pots and other paraphernalia .
However . ive done several years of Winter series races and regretted taking the blower out every time !
Rain x /anti fog just doesn't work , nor does a potato , washing up liquid or anything else , its all about the movement of air and ive seen some really Heath Robinson ways of keeping it moving including 2 x 12v Hair dryers gaffa taped to the dashboard !!
Heated screens are ok , if you use the Ford swithces they only stay on for 7-10 minutse before going off , the draw is 30amps or something crazy and blows fuses , they always have an area right in front of your face that doesn't clear !!
The Seat Cupara challenge cars had the right idea tho , a scoop in the bonnnet and a length of donkey Dick trunking up under the dash to the existing vents in the dash seemed to do the job for us last year , even in the carnage at Donnington we could still see for the 1st 2 corners before the pile up .

Was wondering why a heated screen hadn't been mentioned lol

I suppose time will tell as thats the route I've gone down.

I've had a few novas with no heaters or heated front screen and I'll never make that mistake again, try driving to the ring in the pissing rain with the car filling with water every second lol, It was a experience

All of that sounds about right for an out and out racer but in Kelvins case my advice stands
