Default Thread M16x150

i'm not the best when it comes to threads.

can i assume correct thst this is metric? does it have an imperial thread like 1/8npt???

or would they be totally different?
as this is the thread pattern on the oil pressure switch on my engine

and most gaauges come as 1/8npt so would i need an adapter??

i think i do, but having a blonde moment

M16 is metric. Are you sure its by 150 though? Not 1.50?

sounds like its M16x1.5 which is the same thread size as the banjo bolts that screw into cossie turbo's for the water cooling

threads are normally described as M16x1.5 for instance which is what yours could well be... the 16mm is the diameter of the thread in mm and the 1.5 bit is the pitch of the thread also in mm

if you have a Pirtek in your area pop in and they'll have any adaptor etc you could possibly want to buy.

M16 = 16mm, when the pitch is omited it means that you refer back to ISO 261 (or might have been 262, i cant remember) so it will be a coarse thread 2mm pitch, X150 is obviously not the pitch so it will refer to the length being 150mm.

so in short M16, coarse thread (2mm pitch) 150mm long

I would disagree. I think its bad wording from peugeot. No way is the bit hes talking about 150mm long.

If thats the case, then its gonna be M16 x 1.5 pitch. So standard M16. An adaptor should be easy to pick up for that.
