Default best box for a 2wd cossie..

to easily cope with 400-450 bhp. dont want it to rough. want it as nice to drive as possible, and not make t much of a whine.

The standard T5 box. If your worried or you box has many loads of miles then speak to Marco about Bara reconditioning the box.

its tremec that make the tko and i dont think there based in aus but i know there used in lots of aus cars and ive seen them in aus ford tuning mags and were alot cheaper than here but not sure whats needed to fit them to a cossie excactly but maybe if you can speak to marting he can maybe help? just thought it would be daft to buy it more expensive in uk and have it sent over etc etc.

i agree with you mate. at that sort of power its not worth spending loads of money on a fancy box. a good t5 is plenty strong enough. plenty of people useing then at 500bhp

Indeed except he asked for a box that can take 400-450 not 500 plus it depends on how much ft/lb his engine produces and how he drives the car

We do the TKO 600 box as a bolt in kit...This comes with these brand new parts: box, clutch plate, speedo cable, clutch bearing and carrier, spigot bearing, rubber mount etc It also includes modifcation to the prop, belhousing and gearbox x member. Kit price is £2350 DIY or £2500 drive in drive out, both prices are plus VAT.

Martin is your guy for this. Mine was done by MAD but Marks not interested in offering it to all his customers. I paid a lot more for my box back in 96 because it was not available with .82 5th gear & had to have a road/race gear set fitted in the States that cost £700 extra. They now offer the tko600 which is exactly as mine ended up.

For 400-450 the standard T5 is a good bet if its in good order IMHO
