Hi,

i currently have a escort 1.8 LX i have been offered a 3 door escort 1.8 GTI i have noticed that they both are the same pushing out 113bhp, is there much difference in two cars? if so what any help would be gr8

there isnt any power difference, but the gti has more kit, half leather, 15 inch alloys, a bodykit and also handles better. But technically, the engines are the same.

so it will be the same pull off as mine now then, so i am paying for the name really? and is there more mods you can do to a GTI aswell

as above mate, if the GTi is a good price have it, good cars i owned a black 5 door for 2 1/2 years

engine isnt everythiong, the gti is a much better car than a LX

and there are simple mods for 1.8 zetecs taken from the 2.0 zetec, or just put a 2.0 in, simple conversion

the gti is the same running gear, as said it has the half leather, 5 spokes & bodykit, the gti is a higher insurance group so check that.
