Mapping now complete!!!
Well....i am getting 11.7 afr @ a held 1.7bar from around 6500rpm..its richer before this due to BD10's....but i love the top end power they produce ....So basically i am getting 2.2bar this then drops off to 1.7bar as the revs climb...so basically i have counteracted the mid range loss from the cams with the spike Boost control is STD amal valve!!!!!As the escos one didnt work ...I have mapped the valve 100% on unitill 5500rpm them 100% off!..as tbh the std amal cant really do percentages!..But it works!......and fuck me does she fly with NO surge ...You just boot it and you get a massive surge of power and you can feel the boost dropping to stop exxcessive cylinder pressures due to std comp!...This baby flys...with some new suspension mods i am getting limited wheelspin well first no point second it just lights the tyres up and in 3rd as long as your pointing straight its fine
How much BHP?????..FOOKING SHIT LOADS It IS faster than my lo comp T4 build using an Ahmed chip..plus not so laggy and no surge issues!
Just waiting for anti lag now and this car will be a proper road going animal

Phil,
Use an escort cossie amal valve and it will be properly mappable for boost
as long as it is piped up correctly.
Sierra ones are sh*t which is why Ford changed the design.
Glad you are happy.... so am I now

Do you think you have sussed out the sound of det yet - have you took it to the limit or are you not sure det wise as i know you made cans etc but how do you actually know what it sounds like if you have not been shown it on cans by someone experienced?

i still don't understand why you say it's richer in the midrange due to the cams. why don't you just reduce the injector on time (duration, pulse width, whatever you want to call it) to get the AFR to where you want it?

ForeignRS....my cams cant process the air until later on in the rev range if i changed cams it would...as the port size aint the problem!..But i like the characteristics!...I cant be arsed to lean the middle off...no point as you aint in it long enuff and so what if i using more fuel...with 8 going its already dreadful
Dumped....det sounds like stones hitting the rear wheel arch apparently..i am yet to experience it due to the fact my ignition curve is very safe..ok i am losing power but aslong as everything is working fine i cannot get det really......

Its using same cams/head/pistons/rods/crank/clutch/flywheel...just new bearings and gaskets and oil pump and rings So its hardly another new engine!

Just took my ages to recognise the sound of det with cars on the rollers etc and only got it though someone telling me. On det cans i would imagine it to be quiet tricky especially if you dont know what you are listening for from experience.
So instead of det your just going to burn your exhaust valves out
Well done on it all - when does mike get a drive till we find out what it compares too

Rainbirds...YOUR car i would piss all over wheelspin or not...you loose far to much thru them wheels not to mention the weight When we next meet up you can relive your younger days of proper cars until you realised with age came lack of coordination 4X4 is for people who cant handle RWD
I still mantain it is still a better package than a multi coloured 4x4 with 600bhp...grip is over rated
Steve are you saying Mikes with 4x4/more weight @ 470bhp would be faster than a 2wd with less weight and say 430bhp (totally std with just 4 greys and my turbo made that)????If you are then you are certainly ill...go get them ears checked!

Rich....i have always done my engines myself...admittedly my first build for the Stage 3 was helped in conjunction with a pro ..after that only the machining was pro done...but as everyone says building an engine is simple..speccing aint and i spec all my engines myself ...Mapping..well a good base map to start with is essential and having the pro tools to set it up and fine tune...I feel its as DIY as you could possibly go.....
Fuck the doubters...who cares about them anyway ...anyone can pay someone to do it for em then critizise us who'd rather do it ourselves!

I meant more like Porkies car, we all know Mikes cars rubbish
IS your car 430bhp tho? Go find out as constantly saying so with no proof makes you as bad as everyone else...

Steve if a boggo std one made 430 with justa set of greys on this turbo @ 1.7bar held........i'd say with my spec i am somewhere close or above....the spike will give a lot of torque with the comp ratio though...over 430 i'd expect!..Will prove soon.

if you can't be arsed to change the midrange on boost load sites, how is the rest of the map going to be done properly?
