Default sierra differential and shafts

I am told that there were two types of differential, one with bolt on drive flanges and one with push fit CVs? Anyone know what these came on? specification/model year?

Im also told that 1.6 drifeshafts are smaller and therefore lighter, I assume this goes for all smaller models?

Apart from cosworths which have a difference in the brake caliepr mounts, are all the rear bearing carriers the same?

are all rear hubs common?

Many thanks for any help!

yes
drum and disc are different
the caliper mounts on the bearing carriers are further up on the cossie models than the rest of the range
all rear hubs are therefore not the same
but the hub flanges are
lorbo and bolt on shafts are different and you have to "modify" either to fit the other

so all the rear hubs (bit the wheel bolts to are the same?

But the bearing carriers (bit the caliper bolts to) vary for drum/disk/cossie disk?

what is the differences in the shafts? What needs modified to fit lobro outers on a set of normally bolted shafts?

cheers

the bit that bolts to the wheel is the same
the bits that bolt the brakes up to are different for drum (no lug for the brake caliper) to normal to cossie (lug for brake caliper mount 10mm further out)
if you are using a drum rear end and want to convert to disc then it is far easier to use the whole rear end

there is a way to swap shafts over but it's been about 2 years since i did anything like that and i dn't have any pics of what to do either

there is a user called taps on this link
