Default clutch for 350hp

my clutch has started slipping on boost

i have an ap clutch atm its not a paddle clutch tho worked fine for me before it was slipping

dont want a mega expensive clutch like the alcon as my ap worked fine

anyone know any other clutches other than the ap 4 paddle or the alcon 6 paddle i can use ?

cant help there - but my stad clutch did not last long with 350bhp - and my alcon 6 paddle has taken the abuse very well, even now at 400bhp.

Craig,

Give Paul at PJ Motorsport a bell he does the whoe kit i.e. plate, cover and bearing (see if he will split a kit and give you the 4x4 release bearing as these are better), from memory they are around the £300 mark all in

Don't know how usual it is but when I took my engine out the clutch plate was useless all the springs in the cover were fooked and the flywheel looked like a bloody rainbow with so much glazing on it............................. they were all new 4000 miles previous and didn't get ''much'' abuse

www.randbmotorsport.co.uk - look under transmission .

I am confused as to why you would put the same thing back in the car that slipped after such a short time or was this mileage acceptable to you? Check the torque ratings that AP recommend on my site for these clutches, I would not be using an organic one for 350bhp .

The 6-plate Alcon has almost as much feel as a normal clutch (providing the fly-wheel is surface ground).

Harvey Gibbs at SCS (01733 576 614) does an exchange service or any good clutch place. Note that it MUST be surface ground and NOT skimmed (which doesn't get rid of the raised hot spots properly).
