would you get done if you did nothing to save them??? I mean, a regular person like you or me with no medical knowledge, obviously we wouldn't. But if you were a doc and you did nothing what would happen???
Sorry for the totally random question, just watching something that got me thinking

If you was a doctor that did nothing you shouldnt be a doctor surely? They are there to save lives, not morally think if its right or wrong, even if the person raped there wife as a doctor you are obliged to save NOT kill.
Only God can judge, and when the doctor dies he will get the chance to come back as a spirit to watch teens getting down without being seen, thats incentive.

You can actually have action taken against you IF you could of helped them and you ARE in a possition to help out ie:doctor, nurse.
I have proof of this somewhere, just need to find it.

not saying what I would do, just saying what I think is the law (until ST3V3 proves me wrong no-doubt)... what if you did something wrong in the panic and killed the bloke. What if you saved him, but because you didn't wash your hands prior, he has some infection and wants to sue YOU for it

As part of your oath you are supposed to help but this is very grey in law and most probably would not stand up. As others have said in the wrong environment why should they put themselves at risk of blood diseases. On top of that it can be easily argued the person is not of sound mind so even less reason to "have" to help. It is completely wrong that you are NOT allowed to help though.

Being a doctor isnt like stacking shelves in Adsa,
To be a Doctor you want the job, you have something in you that says you want to help people out, get paid a shit wage, train like fuck and be on the shit end of the stick if you make a balls up,
I wouldnt think the patient being a smack head, mong, Aids ridden kiddy fiddler etc registers when they have a job to do.
To be a shelf stacker at Asda youre just passing time, and wind till its your turn to visit the big fella upstairs for a brew

I am a first aider (I know its not quite the same), but in my work, if someone gets injured and I do nothing, then my work are within there rights to sack me. In the street, I dont have to do anything, but I would. As for the aids thing, its one of the first things you learn. Never give mouth to mouth without a shield and always wear ur gloves.
As for causing the person an injury - it doesnt matter. If someone has slit thewir wrists bad, then they'll probably be unconscious pretty quickly. We were taught that if the person needs life saving, then they are already dead (technically speaking) so if you start doing chest compressions, and break their ribs, you wouldn;t be prosecuted.
There is some law, I cant remember the exact name but its to do with life saving and no doctor or nurse etc has ever been prosecuted for causing an injury while trying to save a life because of this law.
You do need to inform people that you are a first aider/doctor/nurse etc and ask if they want your help in this day and age though, to stop them doing you for assault etc when you touch them. I have also heard of a paramedic who some woman tried to sue as she said he was touching her up when hee was doing chest compressions.
CRazy world we live in these days

I presume they pay you for being a first aider, otherwise they should not beable to sack you.

In my case, yes they do. But if your work send you on a first aid course, with a view to you being the registered first aider, then they could sack you anyway. You can always say you dont want to do it.
