Got an 'S' reg mondeo diesel as a taxi.
About 14 days ago, I was coming down the motorway at about 70-80 MPH. All of a sudden I heared a rattle from the engine and it blew black/grey smoke out of the exhaust in a big plume. It did this for about 5 seconds then stopped rattling and smoking and carried on.
The problem is that I now have a kangarooing problem.
In 1st, it's fine. 2nd, 3rd, 4th BIG PROBLEM!!! At about 1700 rpm it coughs and splutters and doesn't go anywhere quickly. This carries on to about 3000 rpm, but sometimes is won't rev past 2500 rpm.
I initially thought the turbo had gone but it boosts in 1st.
It's not using any oil and hardly any water and does't get hotter than it should.
Does anyone have any ideas?
It's important as it's my tool for work.
