How old mate??

I love them too, even better when they have Works or Hartge upgrades, sooo much fun!.

Only probs i've noticed on the missus Cooper is the dash can get rattly, the trim isn't that durable ( seat levers have fallen off lol ) and run flat tyres suck ass for noise.

Apart from that they rock!

they also hold there value REALLY well, so it's pretty cheap motoring tbh.

Good points: 160 odd bhp, nice handling, decent build & dash is pretty cool

Bad points: Design now looks bit dated, common as muck, daft option names & bit of a girly image

I've got one, and love it - have 256.1 bhp to play with. There's 250 new mini's going to the Top Gear track on the 8th March for a few laps, should be great fun!!

Things to look out for if you're considering one, power steering pumps do fail and aren't cheap! and make sure its been serviced using the tlc and if it has run flat tyres get them changed!, other than that you should be ok....

Reliabilty surveys say watch out for pretty much everything.
Air con pumps go, gearboxes break, not the reliable car some think, and certainly not as fast as the owners think.

If you buy an early version, then yes there were 'some' gearbox issue's, however I have an 02 plate, and the gearbox has been ok so far - touch wood. Not heard of air-can pumps failing to be honest....

The oil in the engine mounts leak and start to knock. The back exhaust hangers rust and snap.My sisters boy friend has one,he thought it would be quicker than my stage 2 saff 4x4. What a comic.

Again spouting crap I see!

Never seen an air pump go and they are avobe average for reliablity - hence being the best selling small car for the last 5+ years!!

Mine was 210/bhp per ton - and ask people at beford, Like MadYUM if its a slow car - course its not stage 3 cossy but in the wet mine would have beat it round a track lol

But your right about early gearboxes!

Alex
