A bit amazed he was allowed to choose not to attend, but other than that, its nice to see justice actually served and the police not critisised for how the enquiry went etc.


(everyone is always quick to post up when anything goes wrong with justice, so I thought I would just play devils advocat to that a bit)

should have been forced to attand court imo, shackle his arms and legs if they had to hit him with a stun gun etc and have him face the familys as he is told he will never ever be released.

I agree on both those points.

Main thing is though, the life means life, is a DEFINATE step in the right direcion.

But Surrey Police were criticised for the enquiry. Specifically that they had interviewed him for 2? days then released him. They've also got a bit of a kicking for not finding the car in the Millie Dowler (sp?) case. Now the guys been convicted they're hoping to find his old Daewoo which "may" of been repainted. Policeman (poss spokesman) sai they want all Daewoo owners to check their VIN's to see if the car has been resprayed. Talk about stable door!

IME Surrey Police aren't the most intelligent bunch. I base that on a handful of incidents though.
