Back home after a great time on track today in my MKII RS2000
Not been on Donington since last year and not sure if changes were the RSOC or Donington !
Changes Were :-
Expert Group had their briefing first then a seperate briefing for Novice Intermediate - Great Idea
Expert on track first then Inter - Then Novice - Great Idea
And best of all
We used the full circuit including Melbourne Loop (or as it should be called The Drift Loop !)
All for £80.00 - Brilliant

Was a good day.....at 1 bar LOL..
Didn't get kicked off for noise....
Wondered why we were cut an hour short than we were told, kinda reminds me of time allocated at national day saturday last year...bad communication some where me thinks..
Turbo is now Broke LOL but wasn't sure it would hold up for the day...
Personally think the GP circuit is worse than the national circuit, national is a much nicer drive and feel and not so harsh on ya car.
Not many offs...
Good that experts went first BUT down side to that is cold track and cold slicks...SO not sure it works better than going out third or not as the 2nd session was loads better cause the track had some heat init and novices don't normally run slicks....
All in all a good well organised track day

I also thought the seperate briefings were a good idea, as i've sat through a good few now yawning - wish you could sit a test or something as they're pretty much all the same aren't they

Think the RSOC are on to a good thing with this kind of day

Hope you've put a plaster on that MKII Custom

I wasn;t really bothered that i didn't bring my own car - clutch and box were noisey at the end of the day at Bedford and the car is badly due for some body repairs, can't afford both at the same time, so was an additional driver and passenger for the day

Was black flagged a couple of times for rear wheels not following the fronts sometimes - think that there is a new guy doing that side of things instead of Ryan??
Nice to meet you Rob V
You missed a good day Dave
The Focus RS lot were out in force weren't they.. we couldn't get in with the car on the recovery truck

Not really had a couple of moments where I ran 24psi....
But it mainly rain 15-19psi all day....due to the turbo having a damaged compressor wheel...
Its a hole different ball game at 42psi on click 12 pal![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
Turbo is getting sent off from NMS this week to be fixed....

It was a blinding day......well up until my clutch let go in the 'TRIPOD' Clio out of the Melbourne/Drift Loop at the end of session 4 - no hint at all that it was about to give up - one minute fine, next minute slipping like fuck!!! Bloody french shitter! LOL! Obviously the stress of running slicks has taken its toll!!
My new brake setup (grooved discs, carbon metallic pads & stainless lines) were simply AWESOME though, nearly caught me out a couple of times due to how good they actually where - back end was doing a bit of wagging slowing for the chicane after the back straight - but I was able to brake much much later which was brilliant and fade simply was non existant!!!
Had an interesting near miss 4 car pile up though involving myself, a Black 535d, Magenta Saph & a red Escort RS Turbo that was all over the shop - could of been nasty - I think some people need to think about what group they should really be in!!
Went out as passenger with Dingy on the last session to cheer myself up after breaking mine, slicks & the wet track make for a very entertaining drifting few laps! LOL!
All in all a good day though really.....and as usual I've a car to fix for the next trackday whenever that is!!
If anyones got any pics of Clio 'TRIPOD' then it would be good to see them!!

Lindsey,
i wish i could of been there but engine not done yet and as i have been working 7 days for a while.
.
Steve,
do you think you have too much power then, just thinking about not fitting my T4,maybe go with at T34 instead.
Glad its only the turbo, easily fixed.![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Dave, I sometimes wish i still had the t34 mate but the T4 at 30+ psi is fucking nuts and i wouldn't swap it for anything...
The hairpin (melbourne loop) i was taking in first gear though, 2nd was to much and 1st was to slow....
Not a nice bend...
T4 breaks things the T34 wouldn't.....
