SONY PS3`S 60GIG VERSION
does anybody know why these versions of the consoles are selling for
so much money ? they dont sell them antmore on Amazon or Play.com
but on e-bay they are going for like up to 350 and 500 quid
any ideas ? are they special compared to the 40 gig ones

why people on ebay have got there prices so high
the 6o gigi played all the playstation games i.e ps1 and ps2 and it had a better memory but sony were at a loss with it
sony only make 40gig ones now which dnt play ps1 or ps2 games
so you dnt have any choice but buy ps3 games for it

I cant see why people are so keen to get them. The only worthwhile thing the 60 gb has is the facility to play ps1 and 2 games. But who really buys a new console to play old games on? I sold my 60gb on ebay and bought a brand new 40gb one and pocketed the change.
You can upgrade the hard drive for peanuts if you really need the extra storage space

xboxs are utter shite now PS3 has brought out good games. Everything now is being made to work on the PS3 first, so they can make the most out of the spec. Plus GT5 and GTA4 are coming soon. Plus wireless it built in. Plus online play s free. Plus its a blu ray player with hdmi. All of that for 300 quid. Its deffo better than a 360.

i dont have one actually, but i have used both. I used to prefer the og xbox over the ps2, even though i had a ps2, but since the ps3 price dropped at xmas, they are deffo worth the money for the blu ray alone

The 80gb one is exactly the same as the 40gb one but with bigger hard drive. Its already available in other countries, and is available in white. Unless its the same price as the 40gb one, I wldnt bother. You can change hard drive for about Ł30

Rudey, if you buy a PS3 or Xbox you wont be disapointed as both are good machines and do what they say on the tin. If you are just looking to play games then go for the Xbox as it does everything the PS3(gaming wise) can and offers good online play at a cheaper price.

Its a 2.5(laptop) sata drive in the PS3 so if you or anyone is upgrading do not confuse this with a regular PC hard drive (3.5).

Why is the Xbox utter shite? You said you do not own either console so how can you judge them? All the good PS3 games are released on Xbox as well and each system has a few exclusive titles as well! GTA 4 is out on Xbox in April and features exclusive downloadable episodes which the PS3 wont have.

yeah mate i was looking at getting both the 360 online experience in my eyes is much better the actual interface, it will be though wont it mr gates is behind it graphically is what i ment by nothing that blows me away with the ps3 i aint fused about blueray a dvd is quality enough i have a monster pc so consoles have always been second fiddle to it but you just cant beat raceing games on console and linking up with mates having a laugh
Have you played Forza Motorsport 2? Its a proper racing game, none of this bouncing of barriers rubbish or cutting across the grass at the same speed and grip as you can go on track! The cars are realistic in the way they handle and the speeds each car acheives. If you are after a more arcade racer then PGR3 & 4 are good.

By on large any game that is cross platform IS better on the 360. I have both consoles and anything that is cross platform I normally buy on the 360. Get on the internet and read reviews of games on both platforms if you don't believe me.
Software for the PS3, specific and making use of the supposed greatness of this PS3 spec, does not exist at the moment.
The PS3 IS way behind the 360 in the software department and overall quality.
IMO the PS3 has some way to go to prove it's gaming specification is any better than the 360.

If you have a top notch PC then the quality will obviously better than either console graphically and as you said, there is no difference in the to consoles graphically. I have not spent much time on the PS3 online, but in my opinion the xbox 360 online is better.

yes mate played forza was kool ive just been brought up on gt from day one and love it to bits i,ll buy a ps3 just for that lol oh and tombraider i love a good brain teaser and the next gen one should be abit spesh aye

you must remember that the 60gb console also has the 4 usb ports on it aswell, not that important i thought, until i see what i got runnin now, 2 charge cables being used all the time as 4 controllers to charge, eye toy plugged in, guitar hereos adapter. and so on, mate just put a 160gb hard drive in and is runnin linux. looks awesome and works really well as a pc too.

the 80gb console was out ages ago in hong kong 
they work over here with the games, but the region coding for dvd's is locked to whatever code hong kong / asia one is, but thats why 'some people' download films off the internet in HD quality, then transfer them to their ps3's via a usb hdd

the 40gb has 2 usb ports whereas the 6ogb has 4. dont see why u cant run external hard drive? would be handy to take your game saves to a mates place!!!!!

I bought 2 60gb's and sold one for Ł400 and that paid for most of the other one.
Got an xbox too but im on my second and I'm not a very heavy user but i got the elite this time so hopefully this one will be beter.
Overall the ps3 is much beter equiped but the games aren't there yet but I think thats gonna change this year.
Xbox's get expensive when you start to buy the accessories that the ps3 has built in!
Still aint got a psp yet!

i still wish i hadn't sold my commodore 64. the most reliable games machine i ever had lol. nah the ps3 has been absoloutely flawless for me and yea, make sure u get cod4. awesome game
