In Ireland being in the freemasons means alot more than being a freemason in britian.Over here its for the privileged few who have a hardcore protestant family background. The freemasons like to try and pass it off as a friendly charitable group, but as my freemason mate always used to say,"Charity begins at home!!"Regards,Micky

They seem a bit strange to me. We done a job for one few years back and he had quite a bit of Nazi paraphernalia around his house. Swastika arm bands even. Is it a religion or what ?

No ,no,very different,I'm in the Republic as you can see by my signature!!!Catholic's cannot join any secretive organisation as ruled by our faith. So its very fair to say,any freemason over here is mostly protestant,as there are very few jews etc in Ireland.Any knowledge I have of the mason's is from my mate who is in it.Regards,Micky

I know a couple of boys that are Masons.

They dont say much, they are only in it because their dad was, and their grand father was etc etc...

Only seem to meet up once a month, they aint got no dodgy tattoo's or branding marks or anything either

Id say its alot of shite. Just an excuse for some machomen to feel important.

If it was THAT good, someone would have spilled by now

I've heard it said that its not a secret organisation, its an organisation with secrets,
the people in t will keep things to themselves, that's what its all about,
there are masons within town councils etc which can influence the way contracts for building works, road works etc can go. so being a member can open a lot of doors for you.

That's right. It's no secret at all, anyone can walk in off the street and go and see the HQ in Great Queen Street, just off Holborn in London.

Ginge - they don't take a cut in anyone's wages mate, that's a complete fabrication.

The bloke who openly admitted in court that he assaulted my mum got off with the charge due to being a mason. Hers and my missus statements were changed and their signatures forged to help him as well. The copper that attended the call and dealt with the case was a mason, as was the copper that gave the bloke a character reference. He was promoted to sargeant directly after the case was finished. As you can tell I don' have much love for the whole establishment...

Speak the truth, they are a bunch of cunts with no interest other than their own agendas.
They form thier secret little group to benefit themselves through corruption, they do NOT take any money from wages etc but are expected to contribute to running costs.
They do a token gesture of charity work to try to make themselves feel better as they are lying cheating thieving cunts, who would rob thier own grannie's.
Nothing done by a freemason is done for others benefit, save for a token gesture, and even that is more likely to do with certain groups/organisations not having to pay rates.

No, not at all...........I know people who are including my dad and I know what they're like as people, so I'm interested to know how people arrive at these views as it's perfectly clear they have no idea what they're talking about.

If you really think that copper got off because he's a Freemason then that's what you think. Your view. I personally think you're wrong. That's what I think.

If it was proved he used his 'connections' within Freemasonry to get off whatever he may have been guilty of he'd get slung out of the Force. Oh, and Freemasonry too. Same as if anyone is convicted of fraud or any crime. They get slung out. So if everyone in it was bent and involved in stuff they shouldn't be, there would be no Freemasons by default, surely ?

As for charity, do some digging on the web abnd see how many childrens charities, cancer hospitals etc have benefitted from Freemasons.

Who controls the British crown?
Who keeps the metric system down?
We do! We do!
Whow leaves Atlantis off the maps?
Whot keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do! We do!
Who holds back the electric car?
Who makes Steve Guttenberg a star?
We do! We do!
Who robs the cave fish of their sight?
Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do! We do

to be fair it may well be different down here as we're such a tight knit community, we've probably just got the highest concentration of bent coppers, councillors etc

but that will prob be my one and only dealing with them and unfortuntely first impressions last

As I said mate, it's each to their own and you go on what you know and I do understand that. But like everything in life it doesn't mean that a few bent ones (and there have been some hookey ones) should be able to brand everyone the same. They soon get found out, and slung out.

normally tab you make sensible and rational comments based on your own and others experiences to do with engines. in that light the above is an ignorant, silly and grossly genaralised comment which demeans your intelligence.

The cops are obliged to declare their membership of Freemasonry to minimise the risk of the situation Wazzzer describes being possible.

My dad was a Mason, but it didn't get him off a speeding charge, and that cop was another Mason. He's been dead since 1976 so can't ask him much about it!

Don't know much more about it, though I do remember going to one of his pal's funeral a few years ago where there was a huge crowd, and the son told me that many of the mourners were masons from all over.
