Default 2002 Puma - Door Open Light?

Hi Folks

On my wife's 2002 reg Puma, in the last week the orange "door open" light has stayed on constantly when the ignition is on/engine started. Obviously i've checked that the doors and the boot were shut properly and they are (and petrol cap...thought that may affect it)

I've looked at the doors and there is a push button spring loaded sensor on the hinge side of each door that gets pushed in when the door is closed, does this trigger the light coming on, or is there another sensor somewhere else? On the boot, there is a metal plate on the bodywork, then four metal spring sensors on the under side of the boot lid that press it when the boot is closed.

All the sensors seem to be moving freely, so it's not like one of them has got stuck.

I'm also pretty sure that it isn't the drivers door because surely if that sensor was showing the door was open, then the headlight buzzer would be going off constantly when the lights were on, which it doesnt

If anyone does have a Puma, can they check that the boot being open does make the orange light come on, if it doesnt, i can be pretty sure its the passenger door, which narrows it down at least

Anyone got any ideas about what i can try next? I fix servers, not cars

Thanks guys

Dave

its quite common mate, my missus puma does it too.

inside the door latches there are micro switches that often brake.

open the bonnet witht he ign on and press the plunger about 6 times, it should beep. then go round opening the doors and boot, and you should hear a beep each time. the one that doesnt beep is the fooked one - in my case its the pass door.

its only a few quid for the switch, but apparently its a pain in the arse to do, and i cant be arsed to it lol
