Default 9" diff

I'am looking to get a new diff from my 2wd cossie, I just want to know is a 9" diff a straight swap and if it's not what work is involved to fit it? Where can i find one of these diff for sale and how much is the average price

Do you know if the rear beam has to bo modded to fit the diff

before i went into installation detail i thought i would mention the price they are also hard to get .
is this the sort of budget yoiu are willing to invest.
the ford 9 inch diff will bolt into a 2wd rear beam but there are other issues

I agree Marco is a true gent and goe sout of his way to help. Bara diffs seem very good. Just had a 2wd diff built by him wiht uprated this that and th eother in it.

tony ryan has got 1 i think also andy thompson from atm has will fit straight in beam but you need another shaft as they have equal length shafts so both the short type std.you need to make a diff mount and bracket or try find a genuine grp a one other than that thats it but watch what ratio they are cos most are 4.1 or lower not good for road

think you'll find its two long shafts you need as the 9" diff is narrower than standard
