I'm sure it was orginally meant to be for 18's and under! 
25 seems a bit old, surely most people have 'grown up' by then and aren't hanging around their local Spar anyway?

as a sound engineer, i'd be fucking pissed off if someone decided to blast damaging noise at me when i'm going about my business. once your hearing is damaged it _cannot_ be repaired.
as was also pointed out on the radio, the idea is totally indiscrimate as to who it affects, and is tantamount to torture. you can't go up to someone and punch them because 'they look like they might have been about to steal your wallet', but apparently it's fine to inflict pain upon anyone with functional hearing because they might be deserving of an ASBO...

the noise does my head in... it is on a macdonalds right in the centre of town, right near anne summers, so all you can hear in the back of your head is this constant whining... gives you a right headache!!!! its good that they are getting rid of them! talk about a health and safety issue...

You only just heard of this - had this at what used to be my local BP petrol station (on a parade of shops) about 2yrs ago! I only noticed it a couple years ago when queuing up for the cash machine, didn't think nothing of it till about 6mths later when I learnt it was this teenager repellent.... Don't work tho - cunts still hanging round there throwing chicken at each other
