Default Buying car from NI

Whats the deal then with getting a car from Northern Ireland? I know its part of the UK but just wondering about swaping it over from the NI plate to proper mainland one.

go down to your tax office fill in a import form. then they will ask you do you want to keep the same reg. or a new english one! your car will also need taxed if its not already. You need to bring your full license and insurance aswell. hope this helps.

Trouble is will it class the car as an import then? AS i know that will affect the resale value.

Hopeing it would just be a case of transfering plate over, but if it will have a mark of import agianst the car i will give it a miss.

i know it sounds stupid that your having to import a car from ni to the uk r vice versa seein ni is part of the uk but no it wont be classed as a import. ive bought alot of cars from england and brought them here and there not imports and i still sometimes keep the english reg.
