Default focus rs problem....

my car has suddenly started over boosting like a bitch and cuts out EVERY time it idle's?

i noticed summat was up when it started wheelspinning when it came onto boost in 4th

ive got a bailey dv26 dump valve on it (yes yes i know there shit and sometimes cause the car to cut out, and its coming off very soon )....but surely it shouldnt cause it to overboost

cheers, andy

just a stab in the dark might be a sticky actuator causing overboost.

Don't know how this could relate to not wanting to idle. Probably should get it on a scanner mate be bound to throw something up

check the vacuum pipe that goes from the actuator/boost controller for any holes or maybe its off completely, this would cause unmetered air to enter your inlet and cause it to cut out on idle and overboost

I had a problem with the idle when I used the air conditioning! The engine would die when I stopped, or at traffic lights etc... My problem was software in the engine man comp. I just had to upload Bluefin, & it was all sorted. Try something the same or similar mate. Worth a go! Worked for me.

i was going to suggest pipework but I thought that would be more for a boost leak than an overboost

crap ford clips on the hose to control your actuator probably fell off and you now have no boost pressure to your actuator to open the waste gate hence causing a serious over-boost.
