Sorry people not ford related! However My daily driver is a polo GTI (old shape) Now the problem all mk4/5 drivers have is gearbox problems
Now us gti people have it even worse, even with a poor 125bhp gearboxes only last 30-40k if ur lucky. Im now on my 4th box and in need of another rebuild
So my question? ive had idears for a while of trying 2 get a different vw box fitted but every vw tunner ive tryed apporached has not been intrested! Who else should i try?? there would be a market for any type of conversion (just check any vw forum clubpolo and so on and c the amount of gearbox problems)
Any advice would be great people !

Yer ive used gearbox man before in my rst days but as far as im aware he just does rebuilds and upgrades 2 ome boxes??? Maby im wrong??
Im after idearly a golf or passat box put into my polo!

i think people are missing the point.

you mean adapting a totally different box that doesnt fit to fit the car, right?

its dead common in Oz etc, but rather rare here.

BUT thats exactly what Martin H did with his Audi 1.8T MG ZR.

Thats running a 1.8T lump and a Rover turbo gearbox, he made an adapter plate, custom flywheel, etc etc to make it fit.

o yer must be the worst gearbox design every! Will never sell it though had it since i was 17 from new im now 23!

bung a vr6 or 1.8t into the car then use its equivalent gearbox whilst your at it. sortid.

A vr6 u having a bubble in a polo??? and as for a 1.8t i thought about it but this is just my daily driver (have a cossie for fun) so its perfect the way it is (bar the small problem of the gearboxes shitting them selfs every 9 months or so
