currently my engine is standard, but i need a new MAP sensor
my question is: On a standard engine, can i upgrade to a 3 MAP bar sensor? will it run OK? - i'm pretty sure it will but i just want to check
i plan on going to stage 3 eventually so thats why i want to replace the standard map sensor with a 3 map bar sensor
cheers

Hi,
You can't fit a 3 bars MAP instead 2 bars MAP.
With each EPROM, you have an inseparable trio :
EPROM / MAP / Injectors.
You can't change only one element.

you cant becuse the voltage/pressure ratio is different..
ie,5v on a 2bar may be 14.5psi
5v on a 3bar would be 29psi....
the max voltage the sensor gives is the same between the two sensor types

As said, MAP values are co ordinated with chip settings so can't swap like this.
They have different pressure ranges, the 2 BAR has 17/216KPA, the 3 BAR has 17/308KPA, both have the same operating temp of -30C to +110C, response time is less than 7MS.
The 02/03(2 BAR) has an over pressure of 200%, whereas the 05/01 (3 BAR), has overpressure of 450KPA
