In court the police need to prove beyond reasonable doubt that you were speeding. I think they'll have a hard time with this one. What EVIDENCE has he got? He followed you going too fast? On his own? No colleague to corroborate? No video? No camera? No speed gun? No statement from you?

If it was me I would plead not guilty and it probably won't make it to court.

Depends if he has a bent mate who is a copper as well to back him up, as nothing short of that is going to see you done IMHO! (and thats not easy for them as there would be a record of who was in what car etc no doubt)

If you do get a Notice of Intended Prosecution...contest it. He's just got a piece of paper with your name on. It's hardly proof of an offence, merely that you're happy to tell him who you are.

I'd doubt you'd hear anymore about it as that's just hassle for him more than anything else? The notion is they have too much paperwork as it is without filling in some more for you that you're going to contest anyway??

However, I could be being very hopeful...but I'm not known for my optimism. Good luck!
