deffo wortrh it as increased security, but now adays thay just take your car with a recovery truck cutt batt cable and use jammers for 24hrs until the trackers dead.

a mate had it evo stolen, recovered by the police and the thieves had left the jammer in it, plugged into ciggerete lighter

Default tracker

hi mate i,ve had an evo a couple of years ago nnow with the tracker on her, it was tracker,s own one called retrieve and monitor, basically it,s an always active one as i found out one day i got the dreadded call that every car owner never wants to get, but thankfully, because the car was parked and alarmed, some twat parked behind me and rolled gently into my bumper causing my car to move slightly . the tracker company called to see why my car alarm was armed and my car moving!! it could only have moved less than two inches!! so i,d say to deff get one.

RAC TRACKSTAR all the way, it unlike others monitors 24 hours a day whether being driven or not, so always last location is known.
It also does not get defeated by jammers as uses two different methods of operation!!

As do the NAVMAN trackers, having had first hand experience of these from one of my client's i'd say they are fantastic!

They were in commercial vehicles but did save the company in excess of 150k!!!

I'm definately looking into if they can go in private cars... They can also be monitored online so you can the position of the vehicle up on your PC screen

These can be easily jammed as well, there are plenty of GSM and GPS jammers available on the black market. Only really worth having these days if your insurance company requires it. Invest in a big heavy motorbike chain like the "immboiliser 4". It cant be cut with hydraulic bolt croppers

Hi have RAC Trackstar on my BMW and it's superb.
It's been on there for years, to the point where I'd almost forgotten about it.
Then I had a blow-out the other day. Within 2 minutes of the car being carried away they were on the phone telling me the car was on the move... this was even with the alarm OFF.

I've had a RAC Trackstar TM400 on my car since last November, me and a mate pushed the car with the alarm off up the drive and they rang me within a minute to tell me my car was moving without the ignition on!

I had the ‘middle’ tracker on the M (only because it was on there when I got the car and the insurance company required it).

Did it work ? don’t know and don’t care, I had done my bit by paying the subscription and having the certificate – If some scrotes going take an original unmarked car and do whatever cosmetic / structural / mechanical damage would you really want a insurance company ‘fix it’ job back or a heap of cash / replacement car ?

Admittedly a different situation than on a classic / cherished car though

Think about what you would want before you hand over any hard earned

PS : They were happy to take my money but they didnt ring me when the tow truck took it away with a blown engine

If you get a tracker fitted, don't advertise the fact that you have one fitted

e.g a stupid sticker that says this vehicle is protected by tracker

Only worth it if the insurance company requires you to have it. Who wants their car back after its been abused by some scrotes? Would never been the same imo
Probably worth putting whatever money its going to cost towards some gap insurance instead. That way you know your not going to lose out financially if anything happens to your car, whethe it be stolen or crashed.

My dad has one fitted by Trakker to his BMW. Apparently these cunts get them boxed up so quick to be exported that the signal is broken and the car is already off somewhere

However, the service is monitoring the car 24/7 and as soon as something dodgy starts to happen they are on it
