Skinny tyres on the front as it was originally made as a drag car (ran 7.0), then as a top speed car.

Im not on about the car anyhow, thats nowt special, barring being a front engine ferrari drag car

Stav, are you sure about the 1400 BHP?

Those look like 12 Bosch green injectors.........so I make that enough fuel for 1100 BHP....

Or look at it another way - devide the 12 cylinders by 3, so to make 1400 BHP each set of four cylinders/injectors is making 466 BHP.

Ran 12 big injectors, directly in to the combined chargecoolers/inlet plenums.

Tons of cars run the throttles pre-turbo/supercharger, or twin throttles.
This one ran it mostly as its easiest place to put it, but is has advantages of reducing lag etc too.
Renault F1 Turbo and GrpB cars ran a pre-turbo throttle as well as individual throttle bodies.

Oh comeon Doug, I thought you had enough sense to know the colour of an injector means fuck all and there are lots of green coloured injectors mate

There quite a few Bosch injectors that are green too, never mind other makes. Volvo Bosch greens are same shade but much smaller.

Green injector means fuck all like T4 means fuck all. They just make sense when referring to common Cosworth parts.

Then again it could be because of the fuel used:

.........and had been certified on a Superflow 901 engine dyno to make 1400 horsepower on 120-octane gasoline at 60psi boost.

It could be on 2billion octane fuel, your not gonna make 1400bhp on 12 cossie greens doug.

high octane doesnt magically mean you need less fuel...

No, but it does mean you'd make more power.........

IIRC an engine will make MORE power with the injectors maxed out on 120 RON fuel than it would with 99 RON pump fuel and the same injectors maxed out.......as long as it is mapped to take advantage of the more potent fuel.

Chip will back me up

Only by a very slight amount as its more resistant to knock so could run it leaner/hotter.

Same amount of fuel, same air/fuel ratio, simple as that.

Simple fact is that car would not be running Cossie greens and there would be no reason in any way for it to run them.

Chip says a lot of things and backs up lots of things, dont mean hes right just because he will argue black is white for 10 pages

Are you sure Stav.....? We see time and time again Norris Designs dyno plots on two types of fuel (road & race).....with the octaine numbers only 6 or 8 RON different BUT an extra 150 - 200 BHP on the race fuel graph. I thought this was purely down to the more potent nature of the race fuel.

yes.

boost pressure, ignition timing, etc etc etc...

much more noticable on higher compression engines as they cant run without much less boost or much less ignition without detting when on normal fuel.

Can anyone tell me easily why running a throttle pre turbo reduces lag since steve won't?

Karl, nice engine what does it look like right now?

Hi Doug,

9000rpm is the limit I used on a daily basis, but seems happy to 10,000rpm when used in anger.

The engine above no longer resides in that car anyway, its in a small red square box, new lump in the making for my own car..............

Doump- I never said I wouldnt?! Oh, shit, didnt see that post up there...

Dont ask me, lets ask Jean Pierre Boudy, head of Renault and then Peugeots GrpB and F1 efforts in the 80s...

I expect PF pic re-sizer will make the above stuff unreadable tho...

He said, about the DPV setup, "our drivers dont even know what lag is" and thats on 1.5litre Turbo engines with massive turbos.

fuck all really, NONE of the engine.

its just a tube frame drag car in the shape of a DC2 TypeR, with a 4000bhp 4cyl engine in it.

yes it is.

pre throttle (tho the best design is a fancy iris type thing, and opening different speeds to main throttles) and for best drivability and response main throttles close to inlet ports.

theory is the same, the stuff i just posted is just the perfect, albeit complex and flashu, way to do it.

But people are saying its a 4000bhp integra engine when in reality its a 4000bhp engine in a car that had a glass fibre shell made to look like an integra lol
