That if you fit a 4x4 number plate panel between the rear lights on a 2 wheel drive that you have to drill holes in the rear panel?
I've got a 1988 2 wheel drive with tinted rears fitted with the number plate panel but it appears that someone has drilled the rear panel to fit the numberplate surround
Is that normal & how it should be?
If so it looks like I'll be getting that repaired too
So much for swapping the rear lights back

Yes.... from the factory they had holes drilled in with plastic inserts and the plinth pushed into them....this has obviously been done by whoever fitted the later back lights
When we fitted the plinth to sticky`s car,we removed the studs and just taped it onto the back panel to make changing back easy...

Bugger it looks like I'll have to get those welded up if I change the lights back
I thought they were held on differently but didn't check
Thanks guys for the comments

I put one on my 2wd saph about 10 years ago and yes I had to drill holes.
Amazing how tastes change because I prefer the original 2wd look now.
Often wonder if either of my saph cossies are on here...
