He's not the future so why bother playing him? He's never performed at a major tournament, he wont suddenly change at the age of 34 will he?

not played competitive since october, why should the coach pick him?
he dont care that it would his 100th cap he cares about winning the match and picking players he feels are up to the job and can play in whatever formation he goes with.
he should play in the future when he is match fit and performing well

coppello probably wanted players who have been playing premiership or equivalent standard footy recently, Becks is playing the equivalent of lower league. he is still good though, and i am sure he'll get his 100th cap at some point.
glad to see David James is in for Robinson

Not arguing he's a decent player but at international level he's never been stand out in the big games.

last time he got dropped there was a big out-cry, but he had been shite in the 2006 world cup and i had been watching his Madrid games at the time and he was fooking rubbish - so IMHO any player no matter who they are, if they are shit, drop em.
he isnt as bad now though lol
and it was much worse that Gazza didnt get taken to France 98, but that wont attract the media frenzy that this 'Beckham being dropped from a friendly against a shite team like switzerland' will get

fair point to an extent but also name me one decent player to play instead of him. He is a player who can change a game with one pass.
I would also like you to tell me when Gerrard and frank had a decent game for england.........

i dont think he been "dropped" as in the same way McLaren dropped him. Beckham has been left out the side
Mclaren said he was taking England in another direction, and that direction did not feature Beckham.
Capello has said, "he cannot currently pick beckham due to lack of match pratice/ fitness" this is fair enough in my opinion, as all he has been doing is training with Arsenal. Once Beckham starts playing again he'll get picked.
Beckham will get 100 caps, i'll stake my house on it!

I think it could be a good thing that he has been left out of this match. Although I am a big fan of his it seems that he has a lot of other interests outside his own game to be 100% fit. This trip to Brazil he has just been on was the nail on the head I reckon for Capello.
On the other hand it could be Capello's way of telling the fans that HE makes the decisions who plays and doesnt just follow the media, kind of authoritive type of decision - which is good in a way I suppose.

Gerrard hasnt played well enough and I dont think Fat Frank should ever play for England unless we have injury trouble.

they may all be right footed by doesnt mean they would be a good right midfielder. I agree that i would rather see Hargreaves, carrick, cole and jenas instead of fat frank, but not on the right hand side of midfield.

He's 32 not 34 he's 4 years younger than me but I'm a goal keeper so I'll still be playing at 40 and beyond as long as the body holds out
imo great player and the best british player at set pieces, his skill on the ball is excellent and like the film says no one can bend the ball better than Beckham, I was gutted that the spick wop got the job and was longing for another englishman to get the position, Big Sam Allerdyce would have been my choice, I even would have the paddy Martin O'neil in charge but hey ho thats just my opinion,
There has been grief between Becks and the spick wop at Real Madrid so I can't help feeling that it has something to do with why he's not playing next week,
I hope and I'm sure he will get his 100th cap for England, maybe more cos imo he still has a lot to offer
